What do you think? | |

Walton Is a lot lot calmer witb the ball. I think this is a massive difference between the two keepers and with our style of play its been a big contributor to our improved performances

I wouldn't agree I think Palmer is the better keeper. Walton has just benefitted from a number of players in front of him improving. Having a settled spine of Nunez, Taylor and Matusiwa gives a keeper less to do.

Yeah this. I don't think there's a lot to choose between Walton and Palmer, both good Championship keepers. Walton is doing well, bit shaky in his first couple of games but he's been good since then and he's better with his feet than Palmer. He'll keep his place unless his form drops off. Definitely need an upgrade in that position in the summer though.

Interesting. I think they are pretty much a similar standard but I think Walton is marginally better. They’re both ok for this level. I think leave the defence alone including the keeper, until injury or form forces a change. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

QPR? I think he lets in one or two more than Palmer would over a string of games but he's also a little more in tune with our demands when in possession. We have two respectable keepers for the level really. I would put the PPG difference down to how the ten + subs in front of the keeper have performed. We protect our keepers much better than the oppo do for any given game, just sometimes we're far less clinical. I don't remember West Brom having a shot in our 1-0 win and we've scored big in the other two. Lastly, small point aha, but I wouldn't be removing the Charlton result from Walton's stats myself. Was 0-0 at HT after all and he came on early in the first half.

Not sure about that. Boro game aside, I don't think Palmer has been worked very hard this season. With both keepers we've conceded probably more than we should on chances created and the stats suggest the same. We've been generally getting more clinical at the other end though which is why our PPG is improving.
