Just seen that the list of stadiums has been submitted hosting the Women's World Cup in 2035. Given the size of stadia being put down, I feel like Portman Road would have been a good fit. Especially if some modernisation and expansion has taken place. As it stands:
1x in Northern Ireland - Windsor Park
2x Scotland - Hampden Park and Easter Road
3x Wales - Cardiff City, Principality and Wrexham's ground
6x London - Stamford Bridge, Emirates, Selhurst, Tottenham, Wembley
3x Midlands - Villa Park, New Birmingham ground and the City Ground
5x Northern - Everton, Etihad, Old Trafford, Stadium of Light and St James'
with the others being Ashton Gate and the AMEX.
This is just the shortlist and it will only be 15 Stadia in the end, so some names will drop off, but once again the East just doesn't exist.

I would suggest we'd have had more of a chance if we had plans in place with regards to the Cobbold replacement.
If you ignore the non-English inclusions, Portman Road isn't quite up to the same level (be it size or modernity) as the other stadia here. |  |

This is a national trend really, we are never considered for anything political really either, we are just seen as part of the wealthy South East and for me that's a pretty patronising
An East Anglian mayor which Cambridgeshire didn't want was pretty selfish, someone like that would have given the whole region more say
Then Norfolk didn't want a Suffolk and Norfolk mayor, which would have benefited Suffolk particularly and finally we are getting something be it, I can see having some issues depending on which county the mayor comes from
Presumably clubs do bid do be on this list, surely we would have been interested given the prominance we want for the women's team? |  |
