You’re right. They deserve groaning. Groaning is a great help.

| Crowd groan at EVERY mistake on 07:49 - Nov 29 with 520 views | Swansea_Blue | I love a good collective groan. It’s instinctive. I certainly find myself doing so when someone balls up what looks like an easy chance/pass/whatever. Amplify it by several thousand and I’m sure it’s noticeable to the players and doesn’t help, but it may not be possible to stop it. And they know when they get something wrong, they don’t need us to tell them. It’s the angry lot who hurl abuse at players from the stands that are by far the bigger problem imo. Home life must be grim for those unfortunate enough to live with them. | |

So now it's not just the home fans fault but also the fabulous away support too?

They must be really gutted to play for Ipswich then rather than one of the other teams who’s supporters never ever groan

Those who hurl abuse at players from the safety of the stands are pathetic, stupid and cowardly. I actually had no problem when Cantona launched into that muppet at Crystal Palace. He deserved a good shoeing. It doesn’t help the players one iota and sadly too higher percentage of our fanbase has gone from quiet but very tolerant to one of the worst in the country. Why on earth would you opt to play in this environment? I’d want away. Plenty of good, supportive places like Stoke. But it’s not going to change and this is not an excuse for last night and the kind of disjointed, toothless look we have. Having good players is one thing. A team that hurts the opposition is quite another. I like how McKenna’s team plays proper football and I don’t want him out. I’ve seen hoof it football (which so many seem to love until they see it) but there is a reason why gates declined under McCarthy (and Duncan come to that) and it was more than just the hopelessness in MMs case than the appalling Evans regime. However, it isn’t right at the moment. We might have better players than these teams, but we are just not consistently effective and I am not sure why. I thought it the 9 and 10 position, but it’s more than that, watching last nights game. Tempo? No drive? Players not fitting how KM wants them to play? I don’t know. The bedsheet boys might have all the answers, but wanging on about how much money was spent endlessly and ridiculing players as some do isn’t one of them. Neither is abusing the team or wanting people out. Maybe the answer is to leave KM alone to do his job. We are not going to get relegated and the season will soon be done. Do I think this team will get promoted? In all honesty, I can’t see it. Top six possibly but it all looks in transition and neither one thing or the other. Not the end of the world despite the disappointment and maybe instead of crystal ball gazing and my pessimism today, as I’m doing, its best to be patient and see how the second half of the season goes. McKenna in!
