Omari giving Jayden a bit of food for thought since coming on 15:31 - Nov 30 with 1806 viewsFrimleyBlue

Being able to showcase his talents, yet he's whipped in a handful of crosses and plays in others, not just looking to find his own spaces to shoot

Getting pitch time and assists under the new manager. He could yet make it. Philogene is certainly looking a different type of player scoring in spells and looking a little less consistent than Omari did.

He's been excellent since coming on,

That's what you need when you've got a quick footed player, kit of skill to get a bit of space and get the ball to your team mates and then pop up with the odd goal too

Like he did against Hull in the game before last when he created the Nunez goal?

I think creative players will always be inconsistent. It is ultimately about how often they do make the difference (whether that's scoring for themselves or creating goals for others).

Exactly that yes Glasgow, but much more of it.

Friday it seemed to be the jayden show the amount of times he simply ignore davis and others.

Of course, if he was doing it more consistently he would be playing in the Premier League for Villa. The hope is that he will become more consistent which has been the case so far this season compared to last (albeit at a lower level).

I watched the Liverpool match. I guess it's a case of those he set up missing their chances is it?

To be fair, Omari had plenty of gametime in the middle to learn about bringing other players into the game, whereas Jaden is purely a winger and being right-footed on the left is not likely to be so confident at whipping a ball in. Often wonder why we don't switch the wingers round occasionally to unsettle the opposition a bit.

Oh, and have a day off mate. Trying this hard to constantly ooze misery isn’t as trendy as you think it is.

Instead, maybe digest your ‘food for thought’ before regurgitating it all over the forum.

Apologies hadn't realised. I made the post as many were discussing jayden and their annoyance of him holding onto the ball to much to get a shot off rather than playing Davis in. Just felt omaris appearence this afternoon was the perfect example of utilising their talents as I feel they are both similar in abilities.
As I said in the summer and early in the sesson for me philogene was our omari replacement. He just needs to work on his team work overall.

Chris you've helped show a prime example of another thread discussion about how people respond to things on here. Just no need for for it. Im just praising hutch and saying that's what we need from philogene. Its not ott. It's not a hot take its just a view made about the game when there wasn't much else going on.

Anyways going to bed now. Night

Omari is far quicker than Jayden and is also less selfish than him as well. Omari will probably spend most of his career in the PL whereas I’m not convinced that Jayden will.

Saying that KM certainly made Omari a far better player during his Town career so hopefully he’ll do the same with Jayden.

'Hutch' doesn't play for us anymore, so how does praising him help Jaden?
The comparison with Philogene implies that Jaden should do better, or is not as good as Omari.

Chris was spot on with his response to you. You're trying your hardest to mask it, but you're just being old Frimmers, needlessly criticising players and then trying to blame it on others for 'over reacting'

There's plenty of 'need for it'.

If we're playing the comparisons game, yes I'd gladly swap Jaden for Omari, who could play on the right or centre whilst Clarke gets a proper run on the left. As has been said there's a reason Omari is in the PL whilst Jaden is here with us.

Jaden still a great talent who's going to do plenty of business for us though.

That's not a new thing really, it's a big reason of why Davis has been less effective this season

Im not sure what that video highlights other than what we all know. Hes a talented player who can score some cracking goals. Also as pointed out higher up the thread he also put the ball on a plate for nunez last week.

I do feel however and Friday imo and clearly others on the night itself was that he was trying to do things to much himself. Leif was free so often and not used and hirst wasn't being given the service much after the opening period.

So yeah. In total agreement hes a talented lad. Hes got alot to offer.
Many people on this forum have argued for clarke to start over philogene. For me the reason for that are two fold. The way he sometimes slows play down. But also he does try to do so much for himself. Not that different to clarke. But thats the sort of players they are. It was also how hutchinson was but he got better. Hence my op saying hutchinsons ht appearence yesterday was the perfect example for philogene on using his talents for the better.

You and chelts are welcome to view is as negative. Old frimmers what ever you want to call it im not gonna keep returning to this thread to argue that

But I stand by my OP. We have talent. Hes got bags of ability. Just needs to be more of a team player and we will reap the benefits.

But yes that goal video is awesome.

I completely agree with your observations. He looks to shoot first and foremost. Which us absolutely fine if he can create the space to pull it off or there's the space there anyway. But if there isn't, he rarely looks to pass the ball off to someone else potentially better placed. Clarke, will however.

The opposition now tend to double or treble mark Philogene and crowd him out, but hes not adapting to that, yet. Our left hand side diesnt look so effective this season to me. I think Davus' role gas been tweaked ( ie he doesnt overlap as much ) primarily to give Philogene the room .... but opponents have closed hom down. Davis on the overlap.is hard to mark / pick up and he often gets in a decent cross into the box for our strikers to get on the end of...something were not getting anywhere near enough of this season.
