I think when you’re winning series 4 or 5 nil you can wear what you want.

It’s on my bucket list, an Ashes test in Aus, not sure when, my wife has zero interest in cricket. I’ve done well to get her along to Portman Road a few times. Not sure what my outfit would be but the convicts made me smile too.

It something the KFC sponsored Big Bash promotes at their games, hands loads out to kids, think foam hands or 6 or 4 signs with the sponsors logo on that goes a bit viral, so its just leached over into test cricket as a thing. I mean is it much different from the beer snake competitions they have at Leeds

Long way to go yet its a test match remember, I know we haven't been used to playing more than 2 days in our recent game, but this still feels finely poised to me, depends how many runs they get as a lead and how England bat 2nd up, Remember Australia will be chasing whatever target we set on a worn pitch.
| Well, this has been a chastening session... on 13:09 - Dec 5 with 217 views | BlueandTruesince82 | Is the ashes essentially lost after 5 days of cricket? If Aus make quick runs tomorrow we are staring down the barrel of two nil and its curtains. Big questions need to be asked about the current set up and a rather gung ho approach to a series that England have been building towards since Mccullums appointment. No doubt he was a breath of fresh air when he came in off the back of Silverwoods negativity but the style of cricket has been unsustainable with no plan B and no adjustments despite the assurances that we woud see a more refined Bazball 2.0. ECB, Baz and Stokes have been almost nonchalant in their approach to for some time. Blocking out criticism is 1 thing, lack of self reflection is another. Worst part is they have wasted having the best batsman England have ever produced, one of the best in the history of the sport, a man who has delivered consistently for England as others throw wickets away with abandon. They have dismissed the opinions of 'has beens', well some of those has beens have won an Ashes series in Aus and most have at least put up a better fight than we are seeing here so far. Maybe things will turn but if Aus get a lead of 100 plus I dont see it, 2.0 down and its good night Vienna. England have won 2 Ashes series in Aus in my lifetime and 1 of those was 86/87, I was 4 and didn't know what cricket was. I wonder if I will ever see it again. What a sorry, sorry star of affairs. To have bowled as poorly as we did & to have still had the chances to have them all out today? Absolutely mental. You feel we’ll be around 100 behind on first innings so we’ll be needing to get 300 minimum in our 2nd innings which feels like a big ask. | |

I can only hope that there are some bruised egos in our side who want to prove they're the bollox.

They’ll prove they’re the bollox by playing a shot at anything.

| Well, this has been a chastening session... on 13:48 - Dec 5 with 73 views | Ftnfwest | it's exposed how shockingly average our bowling is (the batting we already knew). Bazball was created to mask the fact that we don't produce test players anymore, Root is the last. The level of our players, certainly against the best is very poor. Brook and one or two others are immensely talented, but only on flat tracks and most of the time are out to awful shots. Duckett was roundly commended for his batting against India, but he'd get in, be about 30 or 40 and then get out to the most horrendous cross batted swipe you'll ever see. | | | |

Jesus you're right, 4 days in series on the verge of being over. Cant bat, cant bowl, cant catch. Burn the wickets again to mark the death of English test cricket. [Post edited 5 Dec 14:06]

I think our bowling is better than you suggest, it was only last week they bowled brilliantly in that 1st innings at Perth. They’re inconsistent rather than average. The only difference between the bowling attacks is Mitchell Starc.
