at almost half way stage.

That's a lot to chase down and leaves little room for error in second half of season.

Yeah that’s not happening.

Playoffs looks more than doable but I don’t think we’re consistent enough for top 2.

We've gradually been eating away at that, if we continue as we have been then there's a lot of games to continue doing that.

Let's be honest we are going to be reliant on at least two teams having a really poor run to catch them and also hope Leicester/Southampton/AN Other don't have a wonder run too.

It's def an underperformance of a season so far.

8 points off where we need to be.

Coventry are averaging 2.24 ppg (providing they win today). If they maintain that, it would give them 103 points.

Boro are averaging 2ppg unless they throw away a 3 goal lead in injury time. That gives them 92 points if they maintain it.

That would mean we would need at least 58 points from 25 matches. That's 2.32 ppg.

Of course, we hope Boro at least dip in form considerably but you are right it is a big ask.

We had been eating away at it but today gives both of them back 3 more of that gap. It is a big ask. There's little disputing that.

Spoiler: we’re chasing a playoff spot. We have as much chance of autos as we have of winning the Champions League.

Of course, but there's every chance of that as the winter progresses with injuries, suspensions, cup runs, etc. Not saying that it's definitely going to happen, but it also isn't improbable.

If we don't get 4 points from two post xmas games I honestly think top two is gone.

Likely left ourselves too much to do, recruitment killed us no true striker and so many other questions.

I’ve not been too despondent this season or overly critical.

However given how poor the league is this year and our resources, that is really really poor. Difficult to put a positive spin on.

And tbh, the way the team played in the first half today and indeed many first halves this season, they don’t really deserve to be in the autos frankly.

Very disappointing all round.

Half the season to go.

Christ 2 seasons ago people thought Leeds with they massive squad was a top.2 they fell away. Sheff U, same last season

Coventry & Boro will fall back, neither of their squads are big enough to keep up their currect pace for the rest of the season.

Recruitment has been dreadful I agree.

So many players unsuited to playing in a team that dominates possession.

Pedestrian and almost boring to watch at times.

Yeah I agree. I think playoffs are the aim now, try and strengthen in Jan and work on the weak areas of the team, have a strong second half of the season and try to win Playoffs.

Very disappointing given pre season expectations and how p1ss poor the league is.

Horrible recruitment for 2 seasons running has cost us autos

Everyone can clearly see recruitment was crap since we got promoted. Plenty still found excuses for MA & Co. - "no one wants to join a newly promoted side". Bs. Look at Sunderland. Now we are a parachute side, supposedly one of the most attractive propositions in the EFL and yet we STILL fail in recruitment.

Wake up MA. Talk less, do more.

Summer 2024, I remember soemthing along the lines of.

The process is the same but the bigger the deals the more important they are to get right.
