As a follow up to the excellent thread on ghastly Christmas fodder, specifically my view of panettone, what is your favourite cake?
I’m not sure you can look past a good chocolate cake with cream inside and a nice Cadburys chocolate roof.
Honourable mentions: Carrot, Madeira, Coffee and Christmas cake with a generous slice of really good strong cheddar. I’ve no idea why cheese goes with a slab of xmas’ finest, but it does. |  | | |  |

But unless you have a good word with yourself, you may have to be condemned to the Chateau D’If ‘wrong un’ cells for your take on Carrot Cake. It’s cake of the gods and rightly in my top five. | | | |

Christmas cake’s ok, once I’ve peeled of the marzipan. So I suppose a rich fruit cake would be my favourite. A coffee and walnut is also ok after a long bike ride. But I’m not really a cake person. Crisps on the other hand… |  |

I have tried it and I find it offensive to cake, mainly due to its serous lack if cream and chocolate.
I'm surprised you enjoyed it yerself, as your clearly a fine judge of cake judging by your fair and considered panettone review on the other thread, absolutely nailed it  | | | |
