If he scores the goals that get us promoted it doesnt matter, Ashley Young isnt the usual age profile, maybe its about getting promoted, not just for the future

I agree but scoring against most of the Scottish sides surely is easier than the Championship and when we get promoted we will have enough players to move on at a loss I would guess.

Would you be happy signing a 30 year old playing really well in League 1 having been pretty decent for all his career playing at that level? Because that's the level we're talking about.

He's ahead of Hirst in the pecking order for Scotland!

I would love to see Shankland playing off Hirst - I think he would score a lot of goals. However, I would prefer to see this for Scotland, rather than Ipswich.
