Holding onto the ball last night, baiting the press.

Ironically, it was the Cov fans getting arsey about it, rather than our own. I thought it played a big part in our success in the first half, creating space for Taylor and Matusiwa. It really did feel like we had an extra man on the ball.

Keep it up, Christian!

Lampard:

“They had a lot of rotation, we know how they want to play and they take their time on the ball and I think we were sometimes getting coerced into trying to press because the fans wanted us to press and [we were therefore] opening up spaces between us,” he continued.

Blaming the fans won't go down well.

No - but you have it right there from the (fat) horse’s mouth that it WORKS.

If we could remember that please…

I don't know, a load of our fans got really angsty about Walton last night. There was maybe one sloppy pass out to Kipre but he was really good.

I do wonder sometimes how much some of our fans have watched of us over the last four years.

Probably a quite an underrated come back story really. Never got the shirt back after Sunderland away, two keepers signed since. Was convinced when he came on for 2 minutes against Huddersfield that was a nice farewell for him after his league 1 campaign.

I don't think he is PL level tbh but a really good spell he is having since the Palmer injury. Commanding his area as well. Very much his shirt and will be a Championship starter somewhere for years to come I should imagine.

Not sure it’s any worse than anyone else’s fanbase tbf, and probably a lot better than some (West Ham cough). Imagine hounding out a European cup (of sorts) winning manager after 40 trophyless years because he doesn’t play ‘the right way’.

I swear, that there are people here that were far happier applauding us to a gutless relegation under The Fraud than they are now, watching a very good team that hasn't 100% clicked compete from promotion under a highly competent manager.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

They only reflect the general population, unfortunately.

I was hoping Walton was going to wait it out longer and see how long it would take before anyone pressed him. It was hilarious watching their forward on the left waving on their other one, who was trying to work out how to press Walton and Kipre at the same time. It was all very Chuckle Brothers-esque.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

I feel more comfortable with Walton dealing with all the long throws we seem to be facing at the moment.
