He came on just as Craig Short changed the Oxford formation which lead to a lot more of the play going through the centre of the pitch rather than down the flanks. This was countered with McKenna taking off Philogene for Young and further reducing the width to close down the Oxford no 12 who had started to cause a few issues after being brought on. |  | | |

Mostly because the passes Wes needs, which is slightly ahead of him to run onto, didn't happen.
We have to remember Wes is basically playing in a team, with 50% of new players to him. He doesn't have Chaplin pinging balls into the perfect position for Wes's strength, but it will come. |  | | |

He's had 16 mins plus whatever was added on in both games before this game with basically a year out.
Come on now. McAteer has had chances to impress and has more often than not, failed. I'm assuming McKenna thought those last minutes were best for Burns to get more minutes than to give them to McAteer.
