Huge well done to those who identified him and got it over the line. The Morsy successor was the one we really had to get right and this guy is head and shoulders above any of his equivalents in the Championship. Yes, you'd sometimes like his forward passing to be a little quicker/sharper but that's a minor quibble – think he's getting better on that front actually and just looks a classy all-round general in there, noticeably still growing in influence too. I wouldn't stop far short of saying that if we keep him fit for the next four months we go up, he's been brilliant. [Post edited 2 Jan 15:59]

Appreciate Matusiwa came from France, but given his upbringing in Holland, just surprised it’s not somewhere we’ve tried doing more dealings. Such good players, at a fraction of the cost from elsewhere in Europe.

With Mick Court arriving just after the last window closed it will be interesting to see how that changes things. He's also been given a 'Director of' level title rather than a 'Head of' which suggests recruitment is being positioned alongside Andy Rolls and Dmitri Halajko rather than under one of them.

He's an absolute master of breaking up the opposition attacks and recycling the ball. [Post edited 2 Jan 16:26]

He has the most interceptions in the division, not sure they specify quite as precisely as the figure you're after. https://www.fotmob.com/en-GB/l
