For a draw against a Prem side 18:47 - Jan 12 with 1244 viewsgainsboroughblue

John Rooney looked quite underwhelmed with that.

Brentford home won’t do much for the budget other than it being televised.

Brentford away would’ve probably been better for them tbh

They have to be happy with that. TV again most probably.

I guess once you've knocked the holders out it's hard to beat that unless it was Liverpool, Man City or Arsenal.

I think he would have been hoping for Leeds out of those three.

Brentford are a good side. All of the challenge without the glamour.

Truly impaired.

Yep. Nothing against Brentford but in terms of getting a glamour Prem club in the cup, they don't get the pulses racing.

Goes without saying of course.

No offence to Brentford but there's no glamour or prestige associated with them.

Or West Ham, that stadium they play at is packed out every week, that's what the attendance figures say...

It is a bit underwhelming as they've got all the quality and none of the prestige of others.

Maybe wanted an away draw too, bigger pay day and a chance to visit a PL stadium.

It's a massive gulf and Brentford are obviously a bigger club, but they were playing each other in League Two as recently as 2009. Leeds would have been much more tasty.

And now I'm thinking about how 2009 was SEVENTEEN years ago...

I think they would have preferred an away draw against any of the bigger PL clubs, with a payday in the offing. Brentford, while now an established PL club, are not exactly glamorous.

Macclesfield didn't exist in 2009.

I assume the TNT deal must be more that terrestrial, but you’d have to think the viewing figures would be far lower.

They were likely to lose the next game anyway, so better against Brentford rather than Port Vale or Hull.
I think this is all a bit disingenuous to Brentford.
