If Carrick does really well surely they offer him the job full time? (Hopefully that happens - one less job for McKenna in the summer)

It’s a low bar but think he’ll struggle there; their squad is so so poor. They are a broken club on and off the pitch. And it’s fking glorious 😄

“ at Wolves, would be a more likely destination, if he leaves.” So you think Hackney fancies a quick return to the Championship?

| Carrick in at United on 19:53 - Jan 13 with 1375 views | PhilsAngels | The summer managerial merry go round is going to be ridiculous in 26. So many clubs with interim managers and how ever many will lose their jobs at the end of season. Does not bear worth thinking about. | |

Their approach is just a joke. I’d be seriously annoyed as a fan if we’d appointed an ex player (and seemingly average manager) again on a fairly long interim basis. Just go and get who you want last summer - was obvious then that they weren’t happy with Amorim. Shame we weren’t slightly better last season. It’s also a good thing that they’re so clueless as seems obviousto me that McKenna could and probably would do as well as anyone in that job.

Think Wolves will have a very good chance of going back up next season. Hopefully, we can stop Middlesbrough going up this season. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

| Carrick in at United on 07:54 - Jan 14 with 779 views | Churchman | Managers at the big clubs don’t do transfers. They coach what they’re given, play the formations they are ‘advised’ and take the blame. See Chelsea and Man U. If the important people at United want Hackney or King Kong, they’ll arrive but it’ll have zippo to do with the manager. Maybe when his big chance comes that’ll suit McKenna. Only he knows. | | | |
| Carrick in at United on 08:02 - Jan 14 with 756 views | michaeldownunder | A bit off the wall, but why did Man United sign KMcK instead I think the payoff is about 5million to Town. Then at the end of this season if he was not what they wanted pre agree with him 5 million to go. Good money for 6 months work. Plus cheaper than what they have paid to get rid of their last few managers. Or have I had too many XXXX beers today. | | | |

Agreed, although I watched the game against Burnley and he would have been an improvement on Ugarte and Casemiro who were terrible! As Illy says above, that squad is a complete mess. I'm amazed they haven't tried to pinch Gallagher from under Spurs' nose. It's exactly the kind of energy they need to add.

I think they do too, they'll be strong, but if he wants to play Premier league football it would be an odd move. He's got more chance of doing it with Boro next season than Wolves. He might as well stay put and make that decision in the summer, I suspect there will be PL offers if Boro don't go up, perhaps even with us.

Can't see Middlesbrough being interested in selling their best player to Wolves after the way Edwards left them. Middlesbrough also more likely to be in the Prem next season than Wolves so would be in his best interest to wait until the summer and assess his options then.

Yes I agree has played Premier league football and high pressure in Madrid would have been a good signing. Not sure championship players who may or not make the grade is the answer saw a lot of that here last season.

Do they care about £5m? That is change found down the side of the sofa to them. If they want him, they’ll pay whatever he wants (still chump change) and to us whatever crumbs are in his contract. They obviously like Carrick. Maybe he’s a better yes man than KM as that is what they seem to want. Amorim grumbled and he was toast. I doubt Carrick will.

Suspect the Mason Mount signing would've turned them off that idea. Very similar profiles, up to the point they left Chelsea.
