Based on the other evidence to hand, it still feels like a broadly correct decision. It's just the fact that the justification used by WMP was incorrect, and based on false information.
It doesn't change the fact that the events in Amsterdam and Tel Aviv still happened, and that, by all accounts, a good chunk of Maccabi Tel Aviv fans are incredibly unpleasant people. |  |

it does respond to your dishonesty point. it's a case of people choosing to believe ai without question because it fitted an agenda they were already committed to. they had reached a decision 'regardless of any evidence' and were searching around to justify that decision and luckily ai obliged. | |

I think it was embarrassing when he was being questioned and they kept asking did you use AI, and he kept replying, I'm told we used Google. Then when asked was it the AI search within Google, he again replied I'm told it was Google. He even said AI isnt approved for use by WM police.
When I was watching it all I was thinking was, here is an individual who doesn't understand the difference and this is a load of brown stuff heading fast towards a fan.

I’m staggered anyone would use AI search results in a professional capacity without checking accuracy. Google AI constantly turns out utter bollox. There are going to be plenty more examples of this at all levels. In a way, it’s good that this happened in a high profile issue as it shines more of a spotlight on something Thea’s going to become widespread unless we do something about it. |  |

Reminds me of the evidence of a senior SYP to the Warrington inquests where he compared the level of policing at football to a Rugby league game he policed with only 12 officers.
He smugly answered questions from his lawyer as part of the "football fans are hooligans" narrative.
A day later he had to apologise to the coroner for misleading the court after it was pointed out the match he referred to didn't take place. Did rather demonstrate how SYP had a rather loose relationship with the truth.
