I don't think any regular ticket for a league match in England should cost that much, certainly not in the second division. Premium/corporate seats and major fixtures such as cup finals are different, but you could watch a newly released film or go to an exhibition for a fair bit less than the cost of a standard seat to watch 90 to 100 minutes of football. |  |

For category A games (like Southampton in August) we charge £43 and £38.
I know revenue is important, but that's unreasonable for Championship football, and likely means we'll be charged the same when we visit in April. [Post edited 18 Jan 18:14]

Fair enough. But are you genuinely comftable with tickets at £38 a pop doesn't sit well with me and I'm not effected.

Our home prices have risen steadily over the last 2 years.To watch Bristol City 2 years ago would have cost £28 in SBRL, its £34 on Tuesday. In Cobbold Block C, its £36 to £43.

I think the fun comes once we start increasing season tickets. They're cheap at the moment in comparison, and we oversold in April 23. I cynic in me suggests the season ticket waiting list is as much to gauge interest for demand currently as much as for when we knock down the Cobbild.
Forest increased their tickets by 25%-30% 2 years ago (following a hike of 20% when they firest got promoted). Cheapest is now £575. | |

Beyond that, away tickets should not be charged at the average or maximum of a home fan. Ultimately, a football club in the Prem or Championship are not relying on away fans to remain financially viable, we should want a busy away section - whoever is playing whom - to help atmosphere and energy generally, and all clubs should be aware of all the extra associated costs of going to away games and be measured in their ticketing. |  | | |

Who says they have to be?
There's not a football law that says away fans have to be charged what home fans are, and more than that away fans (and we are away fans too) get no choice about the part of the ground, so it's not like they can choose a cheaper area if they want. | | | |

Yeah all that's coming.
The Americans have done a lot of good and improved the club but it's still a ruthless sports model they are pursuing.
As a season ticket holder, I have a pint in the pub and every so often buy a Bovril sometimes on the concourse but that's it.
Whereas the club will want more people spending a hundred quid in the shop and coming for a one off game with expensive tickets.
What clubs aren't thinking about though is that if you don't value the proper supporters and replace them with customers then those customers won't think twice about taking their custom elsewhere if the product isn't what they want.
