Just a thought, but could we develop sindre into a no. 9, which would in turn keep burns on the right, mcateer as back up to burns, mehmeti/nunez in the 10
He may end up there eventually but it won't be this season. Not sure he's quite there yet to lead the line at this level. Think he'll play more as a 10 first and then naturally progress into playing more as an out and out striker.
Quite possibly, but needs to be allowed time to develop physically and to gain experience playing at this level. He's a long way from the finished article, but his vision and ability to read the game is excellent, but the pace and physicality of the English game takes time to learn.
What are the attributes you see in him that lead you to this conclusion? Other than the fact he’s physically bigger than most of the squad I’ve not seen anything that marks him out as a potential centre forward. He’s young, there are some signs of quality and he will develop as a footballer over the next few years. Right now with many fans bemoaning the quality of our established centre forwards and many questioning his contribution this season, putting him up front seems a terrible idea to me. There are moans and groans when established players in their mid-twenties miss chances or aren’t where the crowd expect them to be. It’s not one for Sindre, certainly not at this level and at this stage in his career with us.
KM has already stated that Sindre will eventually play a more central role and not out wide.
Which makes it even more baffling that we continue to stick him out there on the wing, when our 10s and 9s have been so woefully ineffective all season in terms of goal contributions.

Walle Egeli: In the Long-Term I'll Be a Number 107th Nov 2025 06:00 Town forward Sindre Walle Egeli says he sees himself playing in a more central role longer-term at the Blues under manager Kieran McKenna.15
“I would say that for now I’m most comfortable in the right-wing position, but I know I can play in the 10 also,” he said. “In the long term, I think I’m probably going to end up as a 10. For now, I'm very comfortable in both, but I probably prefer the right wing.
“The gaffer knows my qualities, he will probably agree with me by saying that in the long term I will be a number 10, but it’s a good thing that I can play both.
“I can play right wing, I can play 10, I played as a left winger last season and a little bit at striker. I would say I can play multiple positions up front.”
McKenna replied: "He's a really versatile forward. He's played as a striker, he's played as a sort of inside forward, number 10, and he's played as a wide player. He's comfortable in all three.
"I think he prefers, at the moment, playing in wide areas, but I think he certainly could end up as an inside forward.
"Great left foot, can score different types of goals. Really good in the penalty box. Good football brain."
Ade Akinbiyi couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo...

He's 19 and whilst he sees himself as eventual 10 (as does KM) - he needs to develop, so poss. not ready quite yet.
But, he's had a cameo or two there and looked very comfortable.

When you watch his highlights from last season he has a real confidence and swagger about him, for many reasons that doesn’t seem there at the moment and really hope he can find it here.
In this video he shows signs of really smart hold up play and taking the ball up the pitch quickly, like Delap did so well for us last season.

He seems to brush away and out pace opposition players easily which makes me think the quality of teams he has been facing has not been so high and the extra physicality of the Championship has been an equalizer for him. Might well be completely irrelevant, but he is also seems a very quiet lad and I rarely if ever see him conversing with other players, maybe if he does not yet feel wholly at home at the club, he is unable show off his personality on the pitch, he has been bland and lacking spark and confidence.
He needs to be moved centrally, being wasted out on the right. I wouldn't be averse to trying him in the 9, can't be any less effective than the current incumbents.
