She’s no oil painting that’s for sure. She is just digging herself a deeper hole. Don’t think she was a particularly brilliant player either. We have women commentators in the men’s game, but men aren’t allowed to comment on women’s football. Not exactly equality is it. You don’t attack an Arsenal legend, England legend and a man who I understand has done lots of work promoting the woman’s game. On another note I see the two tw@ts Richard Keys and Andy Gray are returning to the UK as not having their contracts renewed.

Not the first comment of that sort. Rather gives some substance to some of what she complains about.

How on earth has this become news again?

Some of what she says has merit, but she comes across as having no humility at all, doesn't reflect well on her at all.

And fundamentally, she's not a good pundit, albeit that hasn't stopped plenty who played at the top of the men's game having a career in punditry. Paul Merson probably being the most outstanding example.

I always think of Merson and Alan Brazil with a sense of the media looking after people who suffer similar problems.

It is a real shame that Eni Aluko cannot express her views in a better way. It doesn't help at all that she is not a good commentator. I don't really get her issue with Ian Wright.

She had a career as a lawyer, she’s not an idiot and knows how to put her point across. She is just wrong

Her issue with Ian Wright is purely that she wants jobs that he is doing. And thinks that as its women's football and Wright talks about supporting womens game, he really ought to recognise that he is keeping a woman out of that slot.

Not a completely unreasonable idea. the issue is that she genuinely thinks she is the person to fill that slot and takes it personally, that someone who has far more visibility and potential to promote, has it.

And David Wright is keeping a woman out of a manager's job at Ipswich (Not sure who the Bournemouth womans manager is).

I'm happy for female pundits and commentators in the mens game and vice versa.

Why on earth anyone though she should be a pundit on the men’s game is absolutely crazy , you want ex players who have played the game( male version) at the highest level. The problem is this damn box ticking which means you don’t get the best people for the job.

Sky has got some excellent young reporters/commentators/summarisers (male and female) who have never played the game professionally.

Whilst some insight from former players is useful (and it matters little whether they are former top men's, women's or lower league players but rather their knowledge and ability to express it), the best commentary is from trained professionals (not former players). Think Brenner Woolley vs Mick Mills. Henry Blofeld vs Geoff Boycott. John Motson vs Alan Shearer.

A few former players stand out. Jimmy Armfield springs to mind as an ex-player who did become an excellent summariser.

Whilst ther eis some merit in that, the reality is that most of the pundits we hear from are stupid and inane in their observations.

I am less and less convinced that their knowledge is worthwhile.

I think it MAY be a contributing factor to why she is no longer contracted by ITFC.

Male and female pundits are a blend of communication skills, experience-based credibility, technical knowledge, charm, wit, attractive physical appearance and good interaction with other co-hosts to name a few.

To dismiss any of these qualities as irrelevant to their work as presenters on national TV is just reality-rejecting, politically-correct virtue-signaling.
