Has McKenna finally been exposed?

Not finally really! Boring, turgid, dull!

Another loss, another McKenna borefest!

Is this another fan flouncing? Maybe, but football should be entertaining but there is no enjoyment in watching ITFC at the moment.

If I’m honest, yeah I think I enjoyed those days more than I have the last season and a half.

That's fair enough in that case.

If I were you I support another going club nowhere club until we get back to that stage.

The away team gets 2000 max and when they won't sell that more seats are made available for home fans Capacity is 30000. As our owners would say - DO THE MATH!

But we've not got several thousand seats missing. Bristol City was midweek, the seats from the away fans made available at relatively late notice. The point of the OP was to put across that we are doing so badly that hoards of fans are walking away to make the case that McKenna's football is boring and turgid. That is simply untrue.

The OP's claim of several thousand empty seats is nonsense though. That is down to away fans bringing so few.

The away fans only get 2k. That stilll leaves 2500 empty home seats plus all the season ticket holders that don’t turn up but are still counted.

Perhaps a statman out there can compare attendances with the promotion season?

Your point is that fans are deserting the club in their droves because you think the best manager we've had in decades is rubbish and neither are true.

What statistics? We're 4 thousand or so down on numbers of fans attending us versus Liverpool on a Saturday compared to us versus Bristol City on a Tuesday night when most of that is due to Bristol City not taking their allocation?

I agree with you, McK has a lot of admirers, but we don't really know how good or not he is as he's never managed anywhere else, only ever managed us with the benefit of our new era resources. I think it's fair to say he's better than Paul Cook but there's nobody else managed us post Evans to compare him with.

'I think it's fair to say he's better than Paul Cook' and 'we don't really know how good he is'

Please get a grip! The guy oversaw fairytale back to back promotions playing some of the best football I've seen down here, has us in third and poised to go up again, conducts himself with class and integrity and is one of the best young managers in the world!

Oh it must be me then….. and the several thousand empty seats at home matches and the 6k waiting list that aren’t turning up then!

Or maybe it is boring, turgid and dull.

Who knew?

We're on course to have the second or third highest average attendance in our ENTIRE HISTORY.

You get a lot of stick for being overly positive Dozzers, and you do go OTT on occasion, but fooking hell better to be that that the swirling mess of tears and negativity that some of our support seem to live for.

Last night was crap, but it was a reserve team, and we are ALWAYS crap in the cup. It's just the law now.

We've got people in this thread whining about 'boring' football at home that has seen us win 10, draw 5 and lose 1 (one) home game all season. Scoring 30 goals in the process. Our away record isn't as good, but it's also not terrible either. Using almost any version of form tables or date range tables since the first of September we are up at the top of most metrics, and only that poor first 4 games is stopping us from being in a much stronger position.

McKenna is crap though, and I'd rather have Mick back.

Last night is not an issue.

Exactly that Dub!

I can't understand it. Yes, last night was disappointing but not a surprise with 10 changes and I understand why he did it. As you say, it's hardly a charge from it normal cup displays.

I dint understand where all these supporters are coming from. There was less outrage during the Evans years!

I’ve been watching since before you were born and I have never been so bored watching football as this team. It might be modern football but fck me its crap to watch and IF we get promoted we will be like the lambs to the slaughter!

It’s a bizarre take, how can anyone say this team is less exciting than Keane, Mick, Lambert, Hurst ?

It’s clearly misguided, we aren’t as good to watch as 23/24 but still compared to say Lambert

The only Muff in Town.

I have to agree. We are so boring to watch. If I was a neutral I would never watch us play. Other teams play quick incisive passing football. Even Wrexham did it a bit last night. We rarely do that. I could tell you where we are going to pass the ball two minutes before we do.

"finally exposed"

Just no hope for some people. Could well go 3 promotions from his first 4 full seasons in management. Imagine getting called out for that. Shameful really 😂

Last night was rubbish. But if you want an example of quick, incisive passing football, I suggest you watch back the Derby match only 7 days ago. To say that we rarely do that is complete nonsense.

And he still wouldn't have achieved anything if he'd had to manage with the resources of the Evans era. He's no fool and when he wanted to try out as a Manager he picked a club under performing in the third division with new owners and relative massive resources compared to the competition. Even then he could only come second to Plymouth. To be fair he did well the next season but if Leeds who beat us twice hadn't kept falling apart, we'd not have gone up. As for last season 1 4 14 at home says it all.

Never forget that for ITFC the game changed in April 2021.

I think hes one of the world's best coaches.

Managers. Im not sure.

Now we dont know what list he was given.. but to say no to a striker because he believes the ones we have are good enough.. sorry but thats not a good manager.

You look at clements ( top of form table since he joined them) talking about attackers and how he makes them be strikers and ensure the others get them in on gial. Converts one player who then scored weekly as a striker and then signed a 2.5 mill striker who gets 4 goals in two games.

As a coach id say hes one of the best in the world. Modern. Knows football inside out improves players that can be improved. But as a manager thats where I doubt him.

I am sure McKenna believes the squad he has is capable of seeing us promoted, although he no doubt also knows we need to strengthen to survive in the Premier League.

In which case there is no value in bringing in a player equal to, or slightly better, than we have knowing they fall short of the needs should we be promoted.

What matters between now and the end of the season is to get best out of the squad at his disposal.

McKenna gets most things right although currently he breeds to rethink some of his beliefs. We really do need to make our substitutions earlier, seems to me they now take place at least 10 minutes later than they did two seasons ago. We also need a clearer plan B especially against lesser teams.

It's staggering that you ignore the benefit we got from the change of ownership Without that your idol wouldn't have even come to us. Would love to see what he would have achieved at a club like Accrington for example.
