Just for once, it would be nice to come on here 17:31 - Feb 21 with 1095 viewsWeekender

After a disappointing result and not finding the same utterly predictable and childish nonsense.

Bad result. Poor performance. That’s obvious.

Every time it’s the same predictable spiral into exaggerated hot takes, name-calling, and insults. Why not just accept it wasn’t good enough on the day, recognise the mistakes, and analyse it properly instead of treating every setback as proof of either total failure or blind optimism?

Rationality? On here? Sorry, won't ever catch on.

In all seriousness, the binary takes feed each other. You get the doom-and-gloom/McKenna out/we're a disaster posts resulting in over-posivity as a balance, but the doom-and-gloomers double down, so the positive posts do the same, and it just becomes a back and forth.

Sometimes it would be nice for us to come back and win after going behind… we don’t always get what we want.
Fans - annoyed - after conceding 5 - and losing.

Shocker.

Spot on. - agree entirely.

Dreadful result and by all accounts performance. Totally fed up about it and the mood won’t be the best for a hour or two. But when all is said and done it’s my team and club good and bad - and it’s sport.

Mrs C came through her latest round of tests this week with flying colours following serious illness last year which kinda gives it perspective for me. I’ll say again, today is sport. You win and if you are not good enough, you lose. Be better next time.

I’ll leave the nappy boys (who will be overjoyed) to their rage, tears and tantrums.

I think because today sums up all of our current issues in one match, and there's no hiding from it. Expensive squad and signings, lack of team mentality, frailty when going behind, lack of leadership.

Eh? Are you mad.

Win =
Draw =
Lose =

Rationality left the building just as gamechanger entered, although was already putting on it's coat . . .

Wonderful news for Mrs C. Lovely to hear a bit of positive news, and perspective.

Well it’s one of our most important seasons in our recent history and we can probably afford two or three more losses at the most so expect plenty of emotion.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

Ah, emotion is fine, this place often collapses into hysteria though.

With all due respect, we’ve spent £200m and on the eye watching the games we have been quite average barring watching philogene score worldies and a few late penalties.

I’m not sure what the answer is but certainly isn’t what the current status quo is! If this is a squad that costs £200m then that is a big issue

Thank you. One year in from her cancer operation and the usual treatment after. All good. Football is football, my cr@p golf is just that and GB are hopeless at Bobsleigh. Let’s hope they improve!

Back to the team, nobody should get me wrong on this. We should be better than this by now. But we are not. In life it doesn’t always pan out as you hope or plan but it’s not for the want of trying.

The first McKenna team took about a year to come together into a true team, as opposed to individuals. We have better players now and are in a better league, but it feels a little similar - at least I hope it is.

It’s getting towards crunch time in a promotion race as a year 1 parachute club, it’s could shape the club for quite a few years, so it’s an important few months.

You’ve got me, clearly my masterplan is farming imaginary internet points by arguing for nuance.

It doesn't have to be complicated.

Individual errors (I love Walton but I think needs to do better today twice)
Sloppy decision making and we didn't manage the game when on top at 3-2

A huge shame as we showed good character to come back after set backs and scored good goals.

On to Watford.

Just because he’s not bawling, throwing his toys out, wetting the bed and demanding, why and how does that translate to upticks? Is it because he has a different view to you?

I guess that's what you get when you get one decent solid performance ( usually at home ), followed by a dross one ( usually away ). Consistently inconsistent. I'm not a McKenna out ( yet ), he's earned another crack at the Championship this season. He's not the Messiah as some seem to think though. However, fail to get promotion and it's a certainty recriminations will follow. Let's hope we don't find out what those may be.

If someone asked you where you expected to be come the end of the season what would you honestly have answered? For me top 2 with the manager and squad we have. Given that’s where we should be aiming and we are 8 points off the 2 point average so far we are running out of room for error this season now. We can only really give up 7 more points and even then 92 points might still not be enough but I would be comfortable finishing in the playoff’s on 92 knowing we just got unlucky.
So no it’s not about losing a game it’s about expectations given where the club is at this point in its history. If yesterday was only the 2nd loss of the season yes it’s an over reaction but it’s not and we have just not been good enough. I think that sums up why I am disappointed and I think explains why I feel right to be.
