We don't test goalkeepers 18:30 - Feb 21 with 735 viewsBlacknGoldnBlue

I know we scored 3 today but we never really tested their keeper. Walton was called into action a few times and still conceded 5.
I can't recall any game when we've really tested any goalkeeper. I recall the odd "wonder save" but not a game when their keeper has made numerous saves. I do wish we'd shoot more!

Philogene is the only player who really shoots. At home.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Underrated post, he’s shaky as well that lad. Even the third string Preston keeper at our place probably didn’t have to wash his shirt.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

It’s because our slow/patient build-up allows opposition time to get back and swarm the middle and box, making it harder for us to find space and gaps from which to shoot.

Contrast to Wrexham who got the ball forward quickly and easily.

Our overpaid VIP players want to walk the ball into the net after a lengthy build up from the back

If they show some urgency, attack fast and in numbers, shoot on sight they don't look classy enough. Prima donnas need the perfect goal.

That’s the modern way, possession is king. However, it’s what you do with that possession that is crucial. We keep the ball in areas of the pitch that won’t hurt sides and move the ball so slowly it allows the opposition to get back in their defensive shape, hence why we don’t make keepers work excessively.

Didn't our first goal come from 'testing the keeper '?

That football is now outdated and predictable.

City have even moved on from it.
