Got to love a bloke taking that on at the age of 77.

Absolute legend.

Surely his 33-year gap between stints managing the club must be some sort of record?

Flipping heck, I thought for a split second the article was going to be about Warnock being interim Ayatollah.

But good for him, football in his blood.

I wish Torquay and Neil Warnock well. I’ve got good memories of visiting Pkainmoor - my M&D lived in Torbay in the early 80s for my dad’s job. It’s a lovely part of the world and when I was visiting we’d go there, St James Park Exeter or Home Park to take in a game.

Good memories.

The south west is not football country though is it.

It’s a desert in terms of trophies, even top flight action. A real shit show. Bristol should hang its head in shame.

Yeah but it's egg chaser land... Bristol, Bath, Gloucester, Exeter all top teams.

Not at all. The only club of meaningful size is Plymouth. Basically, west of Southampton in the south there’s zilch.

Bristol is strange. Big city like that and while BC made the old first division once or twice, they’ve mostly been L1 or Championship, Rovers even worse. They like their Rugby but the South West, lovely though it is, is hardly the sporting centre of the world.

To be fair, plucky little Bournemouth are to the west of Southampton.

Also, are you suggesting that chasing after a large roll of cheese is NOT a serious sport?
