Should be a fun journey tomorrow for any supporters who normally travel from London by train....Raul replacement buses all day, likely to be shared by hordes of Millwall supporters.

It's a longer route but might be worth considering travelling via Cambridge?

Millwall fans are ok,they generally don’t give a monkeys about Towen.

I’ve shared plenty of train trips with them.

Just don’t start singing that poxy Wet Spam song near them.

Leeds are a different lot horrible fkrs.

Do other countries’ rail networks have never-ending engineering works that require replacement buses? Seems like the work never stops.

Agreed...there have been rail replacement buses on a Saturday for as long as I can remember. Surely every inch of line, every signal and every stretch of overhead line has been replaced by now?

We also have the third consecutive weekend of buses between Halesworth and Ipswich.

My partners been working at Pinewood for the last two weeks, was due to be coming home tomorrow but has decided to travel tonight after work to avoid having to go to Cambridge to double back on to Stowmarket, tomorrow due to the rail issues.

Throw the Millwall supporters into that and I think it's going to be chaos.

It can’t be normal, can it? To be in a constant state of repair.

I assumed when it seemed to be every other weekend 20 years ago it was all about improvement and a 40 minute train from Ipswich to LLS street in the future or something. How has this been a constant thing for decades!

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

At least when there's big bits of work - like when they lowered the Ipswich tunnel or the new Beaulieu Park station going in - there's a purpose to it which makes it less tedious.

The other stuff, not so much and it's just really annoying - especially when it's via Newbury Park which is barely in London. I'm just glad I managed to get a lift tomorrow.

I think in the south east they make the tracks out of corn flakes.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

And the A12 north of Ipswich is closed all weekend so anyone in the general area of NE Suffolk has a nightmare journey tomorrow! Don't know which way the replacement buses will go??

I lived in South East London some 10+ years ago now. One day I was on a train, minding my own business coming home after going out with some friends and 3 proper nawty Wall fans of an older school started talking to me. I say talking, the opening gambit was 'are you faccckkkkin Spurs?'. No idea why they thought that, but 'No, I'm not' I said. They stood there in their flat caps looking at me, I thought I might need to throw a couple of windmills in a minute so was mentally readying myself. 'Who do you support?' they said. I didn't know yet they were Wall, but had a reasonable idea. I thought I won't lie, 'Ipswich Town' I said as I eagerly awaited their response.

They were nice as pie after that. Wondered what I was doing there, told them I lived there now, then they started telling me how much they loved Mick McCarthy.

I used to drink in some rum pubs around there.

We've travelled up today and staying overnight to avoid a 7am start and any traffic difficulties en route.

Norwich are playing at Charlton tomorrow at 3pm and their probable train route is into Liverpool Street via the same bus replacement. Bound to be some crossover either early or late.
