Protest needed surely 17:46 - Mar 24 with 6187 viewsCobboldCrusty

Not sure TWTD is the place to organise this necessarily and I've contacted Blue Action to find out what they'll be doing as I think they could be good.

But yeah either way I think it's vital that before, during, after the next game on Easter Monday we make our position felt as fans that we will not stand for this.

Whether that means missing the actual game by setting up outside, creating banners, whatever else I don't know. Just trying to throw in a chant here or there won't cut the mustard.

Honestly, what is the alternative? Just hope it goes away and keep giving them your money?

Blue Action havent said anything about this. Not that they have to, they may all be Farage fanboys who knows, that its up to them.

But the fact that the most prominent club fan group have said nothing suggest that they will be keeping out of it.

Isn’t the most prominent fan group the official supporters club? Have they said anything yet?

Are the official supporters club still a thing ?

This board has lost the actual plot.

Do you actually care about anything that doesn't just increase your financial wealth?
Serious question.

Excuse me sir but is it ok if I go to the next few games this season and give the club my time, my money and support as far more interested in going for promotion than what you have written.

Blah blah blah protest for this, protests for that in this country every damn week . My god get a grip of yourself and stop with over the top seriously boring woke nonsense or is that going to offend too.

Anybody who uses the term 'woke' without a hint of irony is not to be taken seriously.

Unfortunately it would appear you lack the required to understand why some are angry about these events and why some would like to take a border stand such as protests or something strong indication from the club that they do not stand with this bigoted man's views.

Instead you will resort a rather simplistic and tired attitude that anyone who stands up against bigotry is 'woke' and so needs to get a grip.

I presume it would be asking too much for you to apply some nuance to your view that might extend beyond "get a grip" but sadly I imagine you do not know what it means.

The bedwetting is your pavlovian response to a situation.
Organise a protest, go for it. Make a 3 man stand over a situation that will have been forgotten about by then

I misread the word "pavlovian" as "pavlova" and wondered what a meringue-based dessert known for its crisp exterior and soft, marshmallow-like interior, often topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit, had to do with the conversation in question.

Your Facebook group states 75% of town fans support your proposed protest. Please can you share the data behind this claim….

It's more appetising.

I love ITFC, but a large number of the fans are bellends

If some people want to protest , that's fine. Its their right ...but there's a time and a place , and during the game is not the best time.

Do people want to hand the 2nd spot on a plate to other clubs , really??

Ridiculous, don't people like you want to give this team the best chance of getting promoted? Protests etc just causing a distraction for the manager and players, Ashton apologised so move on and support the team.

Just out of interest. Genuine question, but what has he actually apologised for?

Ashton out

yeah it's a fair question and giving up my season ticket is something I would consider if I feel this is brushed under the carpet and not enough people seem to care. let's see I guess.

I am amazed that people think missing just one game in the name of standing up for something you believe in so hugely radical.

football is about more than wins, obviously. otherwise we wouldn't be here.

football is about the wins - its about getting back to the PL - well it is for me and most i knoow
If you organise a protest, you’ll have a couple, maybe a handful with you as TWTD really isn’t reflective of the wide audience
Do I like what happened — hell no, it is not acceptable
Would I join a protest - no
do i want Ashton to leave and would i chan that - no

I want full support for the team, that only and three points

Someone posted last week that they, “hope we are never promoted again”.
I’m not even joking.

Twtd certainly isn’t representative of the wider Ipswich fan base.

I think if you read it again you will see that I am trying to organise a protest here. How can you criticise people for not standing up for their beliefs and also criticise people for 'bedwetting' when they seek to mobilise? Where do you actually get off on this?

If you want to protest before and after then fill your boots. If you protest during the game you will get booed and drowned out by everyone focusing on the team.
