That in itself makes me angry. There was no need for this to happen. Apologies for yet another thread. [Post edited 26 Mar 23:59]

The scandal is not so much that Farage was here but that the CEO facilitated it, lied about it (both internally and externally) and still hasn’t taken a crumb of responsibility for it. |
Agreed. And all of these things can be true at the same time imo.

You were ignoring the evidence of the pictures and supporting the idea that they were AI to make the clubs story stack up. The evidence of the pictures was right there, but you chose to ignore it. |
A couple of people said their AI detectors had highlighted a likelihood. And then the film, from which the still is taken, showed Farage appearing out of nowhere and hovering slightly before dropping into place. So I can surely be forgiven for thinking there was fakery going on?

Yes I wanted to believe the best of of the club. When it's the club v Farage why wouldn't I? A lot were condemning the club and believing everything coming from Farage's side - trial by social media rather than facts. That it turns out they were right and I was wrong to back the club is obviously horrifying... but I still maintain that's what you do until facts are known. If the club had come out with evidence to the contrary it's me who would've been proved right. That wasn't me being naive and them knowing more - they just got lucky, if you can call it that. And I'll continue to wait for the facts before condemning people. Too many seem to just read what they read on social media and accept it all. Just because it turned out to be right this time doesn't mean it validates that way of thinking and means you should always go that way. |
Did Mark Ashton teach you how to admit that you were wrong? 🤣 Unfortunately the facts were lies, and it was fairly obvious. I still maintain that giving a platform to Farage is legitimising his politics and message. It’s done a lot of damage to the good work the club has done. As I said to you, it’s really given me a chance to reflect on the hobbies I have and the message that sends to my kids. It’s given me a chance to think about what environment I want my kids to be involved in with regards to their hobbies and the organisations involved. You’re a good bloke Dollers, probably a bit misunderstood on here at times.

“I still maintain that giving a platform to Farage is legitimising his politics and message”. I agree. He’s not just another politician (in the same way Trump isn’t). They’re part of a wider movement that uses immigrants and even Brits of colour for their own gain, which is vile. Any trips planned through the Straight of Hormuz? 🙈

You're entitled to your opinion... and I think you're especially right on the last line! Instead of complaining on here, I'm off to the anti-right Together march. Laters!

I’ve volunteered to go to any of our ships stuck in the Arabian Gulf. It must be hell for the guys on board there. But at the moment it’s a safety issue getting people out there. I’m currently in South Korea, there has been a massive increase in military presence, I’ve seen fighter jets, warships, submarines, all from various nations in the South China Sea, around Taiwan, and between Taiwan and South Korea. It’s been quite an increase over the last 6 months or so.

| So much division amongst ITFC supporters that wasn't there just a few days ago on 10:59 - Mar 28 with 190 views | Churchman | Division preceded this week. Hatred of the players (e.g. Muric, Hirst, Egeli, McAteer), boredom and criticism of McKenna and distrust of Ashton and the recruitment team. That, in my opinion, was already jeopardising our chances of promotion. This week’s stupidity, poor decision making and the ghastly mess followed has busted it wide open and may well have ended those chances. Change will happen anyway. A lot of the players and certainly the manager and probably the management will all be gone in a couple of months, much to the unbridled joy of many. What follows, who knows but it’s very sad. | | | |
