| Southampton just became a must not lose game on 08:55 - Apr 8 by BtreeBlueBlood | Saints can only get 84 with a good gd and play us game 45 Millwall 87 gd poor but not playing top 8 teams Boro 87 gd ok and play us & Wrexham - sheff wed (3pts) So 88 points will get 2nd 16pts required definitely! 15pts with gd |
When push comes to shove, I'll be surprised if 11/12 points from 7 games doesn't prove to be enough. We obviously want more than that but I think quite a few are over-estimating what we will actually need to do from here on in.

Feck me, we're second with two games in hand. Cheer up chicken.

| Southampton just became a must not lose game on 07:02 - Apr 8 by Blue_Heath | Looking at the table you'd have to be optimistic, however, factor in recent performances, busy schedule, 5 away and the pessimistic view kicks in. Currently, I just want to beat that lot and double them or at the very least avoid defeat. |
I don't think your pessimistic view needs to kick in, it's been loud and proud all season.

That from the 'we just need to support the team now' crew.

| Southampton just became a must not lose game on 06:30 - Apr 8 by Blue_Heath | Not sure but they are the form team have 4 at home and the 2nd place teams have been bottling it for weeks, just making a point they could sneak it and have to be considered a threat. If we can avoid defeat to them it should be enough to put them out of it, they remind me a bit of Forest when they went up. |
the forest team who went up via the playoffs?

| Southampton just became a must not lose game on 22:00 - Apr 7 by tonybied | Don't be silly this is the championship. You know Southampton will end up losing to someone they shouldn't! They're on a really good run, but they won't get 2nd. |
Have you seen them play? I don’t see them finishing below us, they are the best side in the division by an entire level at the minute, so together, so confident, and have huge legacy quality too. In fact never mind have you seen them play, have you seen us? For all our quality and we have the best squad in this division, I think we’ve controlled maybe three games in the last two seasons!!! We’ve put ourselves in a great position, but objectively, with the game difficulty of both sides, I wouldn’t even make us favourites to finish above Southampton let alone top two. I don’t know what Boro and Millwall will do, Millwall have shown great resilience, something we haven’t as yet (let’s be honest but for the worst ref decision of the season we didn’t win at the weekend) .., but Southampton won’t stop, momentum is huge in team sports. Maybe last couple of games, they get in a great position, and suddenly the pressure and expectation changes. Not writing us off.., we went to Coventry and controlled a game…, but in maybe 22 years of studying Championship football, I’ve never seen a side with out profile get promoted, not once! Sides with quality. Sides with resilience, like our legacy side, sides with momentum, like when West Ham did us …, but NEVER a side that can’t control games, don’t press great, and don’t together or a team. We win games in moments of quality, from individuals too good for this level …, and that never works in a 46 game season, especially at the business end. I’ve been wrong before though.., and hopefully will be again, but we are not a good side even in the EFL, and more than promotion that’s the real concern…, we aren’t a team, and haven’t been since 23/24 - Southampton, that’s a side, a team, brimming with belief, so are Millwall and even the scum look more together. The power of a new manager - and off the field not built around one man’s ego like we are with Mark. In our hands though 🙏🏼

However, football can change very quickly. They have the added distraction of Cup Semi final which maybe be good, maybe not. They need all of Middlesbrough, Millwall and us all to drop a fir few points too.

if we play like we did against brum:- 4-5 times higher xG more possession more shots more shots on target more opposition box touches more corners more passes better passes etc etc then we'll win far more than we'll lose

| Southampton just became a must not lose game on 19:56 - Apr 8 with 218 views | gosblue | As it stands if we get 13 points from a possible 21, the Saints can't catch us. 16 points means that no one can catch us irrespective of goal difference More importantly, if Norwich fail to secure maximum points on Saturday, then we are guaranteed to finish above them. Mind the gap. Nuñez free-kick 2-1 COYB | | | |
