Mine is absolutely parched already, no significant rain for nearly 2 months, and my lawn is already going brown in places, and im needing to regularly water any veg or flowers planted this year. Absurd for the start of April.
Second year on the spin that we've had a really dry start to spring, hopefully we get more rain than last year from this point on.
I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.
Dry as a bone. On nightly watering already, which is as you say, the second year running. On the bright side, this year seems to be following last. Wet winter, dry spring.
The benefit last year was that we had a glut of cherries; this year, the cherry tree is laden with blossom again. Might order some fruit freezing bags.
I never cut my grass very short, and I find it often traps moisture in it overnight.
I am not sure whether the soil makes a difference too. Mine is clay which absorbs a lot of water over winter, and doesn't tend to dry up that badly in summer except where there are bare patches when cracking can occur.
My lawn only really tends to turn a bit brown in late July or August.

It rained today, I’ll send you some in the post buh.
We’ve had no problems with a lack of water over this way. It’s been a tad chilly for the last month too, so things are a bit slow to get going. My solar panel app tells me March this year is my lowest March for generation in the 7 years they’ve been in. So very roughly it’s been the least sunny early Spring this way.
This spring is only the second one in six years that hasn’t been a seriously drought afflicted one here (North Yorkshire), the other was 2024. All the rest we had no measureable rainfall for 2-3 months, March-May.
This year has been just right, some (“normal” amount) rain but not too much; 2024 was way too wet, with flooding & poor growing conditions.

You're in Wales though. It always rains in Wales!

I blame your ride on mower and over zealous cutting!
I walked to Benters Junction yesterday morning and saw a bloke cutting his lawn,I said that’s a bit short mate,he basically said mind you own! anyway he’s scalped it,it looks awful.

He doesn't want to do it like that!

Rookie error.
First few cuts of the year need to be left longer, whilst the grass re-establishes and thickens up.
