Cannot believe the negativity....
We lost to a team fighting for their survival, on a tricky midweek fixture, only a few days after a big big game. They played the game of their lives and it clicked. We were a bit shit, not that bad, def not at our best. Both their goals were bouncing around the box, and a bit of luck finished off the game. It was just one of those nights.
We're still 2 points ahead, better GD and a game in hand

Unbelievable we can do the double over Coventry, Hull and Norwich but lose to Pompey, Oxford. Leicester, Charlton and Sheffield Utd - all of whom are in the bottom quarter or so in the Championship. If we beat Boro on Sunday yesterday will be forgotten - hopefully!!! |
And similarly Pompey have had some good results against 'top' teams and still find themselves in the basement.
No reason why we can't turn it all round again and beat Boro, either by hook or by crook or by luck. But last night was painful. It laid bare that we are capable of really poor performances, are far from obviously one of the top two teams in the division, and may well have been doing some mental crack-papering in terms of our recent form.
The lack of shots on target for the vast majority of the game was a particular concern, against a team which was energetic and up for it, but not obviously high quality.
But yeah, let's hope that last night is forgiven and forgotten. If we were to get 3 points from Pompey and Boro, it was always going to be better for the 3 points to come from the Boro game. So fingers crossed that's how it turns out! |  | | |

I get where you coming from , no doubt teams raise games against us as favourites to go up ( pre season and now second favourites) and teams fighting relegation for whatever reason always seem to get these results BUT you got to try a grind out a point. It was very poor performance so we all need to be up for Sunday now. |  | | |

Booing at half time was an impressive meltdown given some of those culprits would have been at Norwich 3 days before.
It was frustrating but we will drop more points before the end of the season and most likely still go up.
Saints winning their last 4 is achievable but also difficult given their schedule and the fact they have to play us.
That would mean winning 11 in a row, not impossible but certainly not easy.
Middlesbrough will be a very different game to last night. I think the team deserves a little more faith. Win that game and it all looks different again.
What would be handy is if Charlton beat Sheff Wed on Saturday. They’d be pretty much out of trouble then and it would be one less team with something to play for. | | | |

I haven’t seen much negativity just a heavy dose of reality. The team, as proven yesterday, is not full of scrappers, has no physically when needed and doesn’t have the technicality or pace to compete with 99% of premier league players. |
Yep, and most of them will be bit part players at best, or gone completely if we get back there. Which is why I'm completely baffled by KM's complete change of style of play this season, to the much more pragmatic, play out from the back, slower build up style, for I presume a PL dress rehersal, when the players he's enforcing it on are very likely to play little part in the PL. Keep them playing like the first 45 minutes against Millwall for 90 minutes and we'll wipe the floor with everyone except maybe the Saints. Maybe I'm missing something! |  | | |

The team deserves more faith in us winning home games for sure.
Pompey was no great surprise when I saw the line up and reflects that we are not a team that is steam-rolling the division, nor are we close to being capable of doing that. This outcome reflects a lot of failure in recruitment in my view but let's hope we get away with that. | | | |
