| A big ‘IF’ I know 15:13 - Apr 19 with 1210 views | Chrisd | However if we go up, time to thank KM for the terrific work and job he’s done and allow him to move on? I appreciate this might upset a few on here and I’m expecting plenty of down votes by making this suggestion, but would it be the ideal time to make a managerial change and right for all parties concerned? | |

I fear you have misread how stupid the OP was. He wants McKenna gone if WE DO GO UP!

Instead of stepping up a level as we get used to playing together, we still struggle to do the basics - pass, press, tackle. Boro scythed through us today and a mediocre Portsmouth team found it exceptionally easy to play against us in midweek. Birmingham, in bad form, outplayed us in the second half, as did Millwall, albeit they're having a better season. We're in April and we're still less than the sum of our parts. Whether we somehow win promotion or not, the key thing for the summer is to work out why.

Ah yes of course, sack him on promotion. That’s if Man U or Chelsea dont appoint him first

| A big ‘IF’ I know on 15:25 - Apr 19 with 824 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | No. If we go up what you do is you give Mckenna some decent transfer business instead of the rubbish we are serving him up now and what we served him last time we went up to the prem. We went in to the prem with a midfield of Morsy, Kalvin Phillips and Cajuste. A host of players who can't run. We have 2 strikers now in Hirst and Azon wo aren't natural goal scorers when it was obvious we needed to upgrade that position. We haven't signed a 10. We haven't signed a midfielder who can control possession. If we go up. You bin off Ashton and you do some proper scouting and transfer business. | |

It's a championship league season. It's not a Hollywood movie. I am begging people to remember the days of desperately hoping we might finish somewhere above the customary 15th. KM is doing a brilliant job in tricky circumstances. The players love him. Stop moaning!

Which part of the likely three promotions in 4 seasons haven't you enjoyed?!!!!!!!
| A big ‘IF’ I know on 15:30 - Apr 19 with 735 views | FrimleyBlue | I think if we go up he deserves another shot at prem. But see how he does going into November and if not working it may need a change then. If we stay down. If we are to make a change it has to be done before the window options so we can fully concentrate on transfers rather than a summer of will he wont he leave. | |

With all that money invested in our squad? Millwall are in the bottom 6 with their budget and they are very much in the promotion mix. Alex Neil is doing a brilliant job. Imagine if he had KM’s budget to work with?

If we go up and have another season of struggle like last season? At least if KM leaves in the summer after another promotion his stock remains very high, it then allows us to bring in someone that has more EPL knowhow.

For the billionth time this season, as much as the powers that be would like it to be played on spreadsheets, the game is about a bit more than that and thank god. Millwall having a good season on a smaller budget isn't really a good reason for dismissing our manager's work. Keane had money at the beginning but it didn't work out. KM has done the right things to put us in a very strong position to be promoted. If you think we should win the league by 15 points and if we don't it's disaster then there's no helping you.

The days of 15th, after the mess of Keane, were thanks to barely any worthwhile investment from the top. We're in a very different positon now, and therefore expectations rise. With both the finances and players at our disposal, hitting April and looking, at times, like strangers where no one wants to commit to a challenge or complete successive passes consistently through a game isn't the best position to be in.

Relegation hangover - look at the other relegated sides. Much bigger turnover than expected. Losing huge players from previous side. Bedding in new players including players new to the league. Building new team. Expectation huge. Pressure from outside. Teams sitting in and us being there to be shot at. Szmodics affair. Ashton affair. This is only his fourth full season as a manager. Not bad going eh?

With us scrapping around for a top 2 finish and looking less than convincing at times this season after investing millions in this squad serves to highlight your expectations are very different to mine. KM has been given all the tools to gain promotion, yet we are doing our very best to fudge it!

Firstly I didnt say it was bad going. Was just asking what the tricky circumstances are. I dont agree with many of those being tricky circumstances. Just part of the game that all sides go through and the fact we did lose some players but spent a fortune replacing them with the players according to the club. Km wanted. Other relegated sides. Leicester are in a very bad way not one to be compared too. Southamton are with us. Maybe would be above us if they sacked still earlier. We are where we should be tbh. Nothing more nothing less. We should however be seeing these games out with wins.

It's not unreasonable to say, with the financial backing, we shouldn't be in Coventry's position right now. I'm not saying it's McKenna's fault. It's perfectly fair to say recruitment has been a serious issue. We've been buying better players on paper rather than maybe exact upgrades on the players we had already, who could fit more seemlessly in McKenna's system. When I say over the summer the key is to work out what is behind our issues this season, which clearly exist, I'm not saying it's all McKenna's fault.
