I’m pretty sure it was just one of his ignorant assumptions that I was a bloke and he didn’t have a clue I’m female; also felt Phil/Gav didn’t deserve being dragged away from their celebrations to deal with abusive oafs, so didn’t bother.

Please explain why you are so sure the majority of fans have moved on. You have asked them about it? Or you are assuming they have? As I have explained, even if they have it doesn't justify or excuse Ashton's behaviour and, in fact, only highlights how important it is to continue to highlight it so that fans don't just ignore it. You seem to suggest Ashton's future doesn't come up which suggests to me you haven't actually asked their opinions on the matter but rather assumed their thoughts for them. As a mental health professional you will know how unwise that is.

Indeed. My own view is that I would rather this poster's views and behaviour are better highlighted than left held in private.
