| Raducanu 20:05 - May 24 with 1335 views | Chris_ITFC | I’ve never seen someone with such a cyclical news cycle. Maybe Tyson Fury ‘retirements’. But it’s constant: - Big loss - Coach sacked - Illness - Injury I never see a story of any success. I don’t get why she’s still so newsworthy, in that case. Or is that just the life of a British #1 tennis player? | |

Because she's the British number one and the world number 37? SB

I hadnt realised she was that high in the world rankings. She seems to be injured more than playing.

But she's not. She hasn't won a Grand Slam in her life. She's won one grand-slam-qualifying tournament. That's not the Grand Slam. A Grand S;am is winning all the available major titles. Not just one.

That's pretty much true as well. When she's fit and playing she's still very good, those times are very rare unfortunately. SB

Yeah, there aren’t many who when they say their year’s been a car crash mean it literally. He always was one for practicing a lot though according to his dad.

That’s part of what I mean. For someone who (from the headlines I see) is losing, injured or changing coach all the time, how is she still so highly-ranked?

What's your point? She had to beat players who had beaten top 10 players in that competition. Not sure on this need to put her down. SB

I'm not putting her down just stating a fact, how many times when a top player loses to an outsider does the lesser player win their next match, not often IMO. I think it all came to early for her and because of that her career has suffered.

Shes rehired that coach now. Although when she won the open he had only been her coach for 2 months. She knew him longer tho. Shes had approx 9/10 coaches in her time. Thats ridiculous really for what she's trying to achieve and possibly a reason behind her Injuries as they are all looking for different things from her perhaps.

Fair enough. It definitely came too early and she's made some shocking coaching decisions but hopefully still a player in there. She's got plenty of time still. SB
