With so many links about post season, it's hard to get over excited by any at the moment as we are still 2 weeks out from being able to sign anyone.
That's the sort of signing we'll be looking at though - for £8m, picking up technically excellent players that are not on the radar of most other clubs and/or underappreciated at their current club.
I guess at 26 he'd fall in the underappreciated category as he's hardly a project signing who you would look to move on for a profit. I think we'll be looking for both types.

I'd say we need signings of all ages as survival is way more profitable than one big development signing.
I'm surprised we've not heard any bids or links for Jayden yet.
As for Deossa, he looks the business to me, and if we get him great. With the World Cup likely to set off some chain reactions in the market, we need to get on the right side of quality players who might get overlooked or have less options.
Likewise, whilst Ashkey Young didn't work out on the pitch really, that sort of senior head in the dressing room is really important this time around.
I'm not over excited apart from our left wingers who actually scores goals. This man doesn't are we going for fifteen 1-0 wins. Our defenders don't contribute with hardly any goals.. Our midfield don't score well rarely. And our strikers Azon although gone now can't knock his effort couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo. Hirst gets a few also gets injuries and quite limited a busy summer ahead hopefully.

As a general point, how many goals are you expecting our CM to score in the PL?

I don't think anyone would be in for Jaden until he proves it in the PL. Same for Jack Clarke.
We won't get Omari type fees for either unless they show it in the Prem, it's a big season coming up for them.

The Betis article I read noted that the club still thought they could turn a profit on him, basically just didn't really work out for either party.

I agree entirely.
And I would still agree if we had "only" got £25m-30m for Omari.
The fact that we got the fee we did was clearly partly because there was more than one bidder (with funds), but I must give credit to the club for getting such a good fee for him. Even if he massively kicks on and turns out to be worth £100m one day (which I doubt), it was still a really strong fee at the time.
It will be interesting how Clarke and Jaden do next season. I love them both for what they gave us last season. I see what a hard task it will be to stay up, and I'm totally positive about it, even if we do struggle. Having said that, both of them struggled to make an impact last time round, and a common criticism was how 'lightweight' they were on the ball in an increasingly 'athletic' league. If they can either improve that aspect of their game, or thrive despite it, then happy days. Not sure we'll be winning as many penalties next season for Clarke to convert, and that won't be his fault!

I’d snap your hands off for fifteen 1-0 wins. As takes go, this one is ridiculous.

At least both will benefit from being more settled at the club now. Very hard to come in and gel when the team is getting its arse handed to it every week.
Even if they ultimately end up not quite good enough for the level the fees we paid for them were probably fair market value for top 1% champ players which only relegated/parachute clubs could afford.
The odds say we are likely to be relegated again, i'd definitely be hanging onto both for that very reason unless we are clearly doing a Sunderland by January and we decide we can move either on who isn't performing.
