I loved the first two albums, then Never Loved Elvis was a bit of a let down and I kind of forgot about them after that. Just had a look on Spotify and seen that they had several other albums I knew nothing about. Will have to dive in at some point!

Well there's a prompt if ever I read one:
Also reminds me of her delightful cameo in 'Oh Brother Where Art Thou' when she finds out that 'Man Of Constant Sorrow' has sold out at Woolworths.
There a few bands from that time, sorta UK pre grunge indie, I haven't listened to in probably 30 years. The Wonder Stuffs Hup album, Ned's God Fodder and Flashes favourites Carter USM,s 101 Damnations.
I'm not sure why but imagine they sound a bit dated now. May give um a try later. Where all good live at the time as well

I recently saw that Metallica's Load album is 30 years old. I was hugely underwhelmed with it at the time, just felt like a band copying other trends of the time, rather than doing their own (very successful!) thing.
So I thought I'd give it another go, maybe i was too judgemental at the time, and time will have been kind.
No, it is still pretty crap, with one song in particular just sounding like a straight copy of Alice in Chains.
I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Not in the spirit of the thread, but....

You should start a new thread titled albums you thought were sh1te 30 odd years ago that are just as sh1te now.
I'd like to suggest U2,s Achtung Baby

I was given a record player for my birthday last month. One trip to the loft later and my vinyl collection of mostly 80s and 90s stuff, all still in good nick, is now back in action.
It was a tough choice, but I'll respectfully offer Howard Jones - Human's Lib, with this piece of electronic goodness as its highlight.....

The Boys - To Hell with The Boys Hugely underated band, Only four albums in the punk/new wave days and all are excellent, even their comeback 'Punk Rock Menopause' album of a few years back has still got the same ear worm quality.

On a related note, over the last few months I've just got into Eminem (never been a hip-hop person) and his first three albums are incredible. #4 is really not great, #5 is OK, #6 is pretty decent too.
In keeping with the actual ask, ive recently been listening to a lot 90s metal, and Arise and Chaos AD by Sepultura stand the test of time very well indeed.

Chaos AD was a classic at the time. Point Blank by Nailbomb is another 90,s metal classic. Actually Fudge Tunnel are probably the most underrated UK metal band of the 90,s. Only myself and Max Cavalera seemed to like um

I was slightly more into rave/ragga/jungle at the time, though barely listened to rave/jungle outside of venues. Point Blank, Chaos AD, Fudge Tunnels Hate Songs in E Minor and even Panteras Vulgar Display of Power woulda been favourite metal albums of that period.
Outside of a few friends at the time not sure I've ever met a Fudge Tunnel fan in real life
