Does it have to be a conspiracy? 18:19 - Jun 10 with 1184 viewsFlittonBlue

Im sure we're all shocked, but maybe, just maybe, he is exhausted and want to spend time with his family, and not down to a bust up, or a release clause, or not getting the players he want, or not having a big enough office at Playford Road, or not getting Spain in the TWTD Sweepstake

But hey, Im sure we all know better, right?

Oh, that Tractor Guy pillock is already on it on FB and I didn't even have the pleasure of his page directly coming up to see it.

He has decided to take a break. People do it in all walks of life. The last three years have been fecking full on 24 hrs, 7 day sh1t. He has a young family he has barely seen some weeks.

The guy has been immense for us and he will get a king's welcome every time he visits deservedly but now, we move on.

Agree with you , he has achieved all he could at ipswich . We were favourites to go up and it was a long hard season in which she really had to work had to get this team promoted and I think he really does need a rest with his family .

He looked cream crackered at the back end of last season, so no it doesn’t have to be a conspiracy. It’s an odd one in a way though, as he’s been in the game for so long he’d know the score and know it’s relentless. But then last season was ridiculously hard work for them based on the odd comment that came out of the club around the time of the celebrations. So yeah, maybe he just wants/needs a time out.

It’s a shame, as I’d have liked to see what he could do next season to see if we could learn from the last one and maybe given him a better squad to have a good crack at it. But it is what is is, as they say.

If we're going to do conspiracies.

Maybe, just maybe the constant criticism of the team last season on here and in other places took its toll.

Honestly could be something in this.

It's months of high pressure and grind whist taking criticism from moany entitled fans.

No conspiracy, but it is an incredibly astute move by McKenna-

3 promotions in 4 years, sounds a lot better than 3 promotions in 5 years and 2 relegations.

It's a real inconvenience to the club to lose one of our greatest ever managers, but it's great timing for Kieran to take a break- when top jobs come up, his name will be in the frame and there will be zero compensation required to secure his services.

What sort of conspiracy? Fulham odds on to sign him, 17:45pm - Sky Sports announce Fulham wont' pay £8m, 18:00pm he leaves?

I mean, you never know the detail, but lets face it, he has tried to leave many times, and this summer was turning into yet another circus.

I have mixed views, but he needed to do more to be a legend imo.

That budgie tool namechecked me in a post a few weeks back. Since deleted. Watching him and his other personality very carefully.

Well said. Im obviously gutted but maybe this is the best way for it to happen. Not sacked in disgrace, not poached by another club, but transforming the club and walking away with his head held high.

I genuinely hope he's off to enjoy time with his family. Your kids are only young once and you must miss loads as a manager.

I hope there arent health reasons as to why this has come about.

With all due respect, if he can't handle one of the most placid fanbases in the country who at most give it the big Suffolk sigh then he isn't gonna handle one of these Prem fanbases who expect the moon on a stick is he?

It can't be that.

Despite the strap line people still want to dream up another conspiracy.

Good luck to him and his family and thanks for a wonderful four and a half years

Better to stay silent and be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt

Exactly this.

Only just heard this a few mins ago. Gutted, but as you say maybe it's the best way to go. Kind of fits with his comments right after the QPR game now - he probably already knew, maybe had made a pact with himself/family, if we get promoted, I walk away. Who knows.

Anyway, perfect for a new manager to come in, with a substantial player budget and a simple aim - to stay in the PL.

Thanks Keiron, for everything.

I thought the same.

I know in many ways vulnerability is supposed to be a super power these days. But to claim after 4 years in mgt you are exhausted is probably not going to excite potential future employers. Resilience is needed in these super tough jobs with media spotlight.

I hope there is nothing sinister like an undisclosed health issue.. and worst of be disappointed if he didn’t feel up to the challenge or was trying to dodge the release clause.

I wish him the best.

Very rare to leave a club on your own terms, when his battery is recharged it will be interesting to see how far he can go, if that is what he wants

Yep, I walked out on two jobs many years ago ( for different reasons than KM ) because I'd had enough. It happens, as you say. Kieron's taking stock and will move on when the time is right for him. We need to move on too. One hell of a fight coming up on the horizon.
