O'Neil is obviously Ashton's man and pick, and if he fails Ashton goes (presumably). But he plays a very different brand of football to McKenna too.

No. We're a premier league team with a new manager (to be confirmed) with a track record of keeping relegation candidates in the premier league.
Yes, there's more nuance to it, but ultimately, that's the aim this season.
I also don't think McKenna could face having to rebuild the squad again. The first rebuild was hard enough - how difficult it must have been to say goodbye to the guys that went through League one and the Championship to get to the prem.

I think there will be less loyalty to players like Davis, who didn't have the best season in the Premier League. So if he isn't playing well he won't be guarenteed to start.
That goes for all the players. A new manager will find it easier to make the tough calls. |
In attacking terms, Davis had a good season since he was 10th in terms of chances created.

I have no idea. Nor do you. I was utterly appalled and sill am over the whole incident. But going back to my post, I do not believe that is the reason they didn't so another joint interview together for the reasons I gave. FarageGate was six weeks before the end of the season and we were playing two games a week every week. |

I would imagine if O'Neil has some relative success and keeps us up then he'll be an Ashton appointment.
If he crashes and burns, and I don't actually think he will, then it will be an appointment made by spending long sessions with the team establishing what we need and who best met those needs and was available and willing. |  |
