He was good 2nd half against Croatia, but other than that has been poor. Same with Spence. Same with most of them really, so unfair to single any one out. We don’t have much cohesion and intelligence on the ball. Very few of the clever runs and defence splitting passes we saw from the French last night, for example. We’re so predictable and wasteful.

Predominantly left footers playing on the right, aren't wingers. They're right-10s. His game isn't to take on the full-back and get a cross, it's to cut inside and get a shot.
England don't really have any wingers. I think that's one of our problems. Service into the box hasn't been good enough. I'd prefer to see one side have the ability to cross from the by-line, especially when we've probably the best finisher in the world up front.
Gordon > Rashford for me. Seems more of a selfless provider than Rashford. Complements our two more shot-oriented right-10s. | | | |
