Yep, saw the scar, a very visible reminder of his awful injury. Great to see him playing on the biggest stage. What the hell is he doing playing for Wolves in the Champ next season?!

I guess at 35 years old the chance to get a 2 year deal at a club he's familiar with, on a rumoured £70k a week was probably too tempting to turn down.

Commentator declared that he performs to a higher level in a Mexico shirt. Wolves will hope for parity.

He'll be a handful at Championship level IMO. If he can stay fit he'll have too much quality for a lot of Championship defenders. I was really bullish on Wolves until they sacked Edwards, felt like a really odd one as I'd assumed he was hired with half an eye on relegation given their position at the time and his Championship experience and success. Not sure what he did (or didn't) evidence there to suggest he wasn't the man for the job as I thought they looked better under him and it was a really harsh sacking. I know they love a Portuguese but their new manager doesn't look to have a particularly impressive record, nor any experience outside Portugal.

certainly seems like the finger of fear that they just might not get back straight away with Edwards at the helm.

Agreed he is a fantastic player and one i've enjoyed watching watching over the years, doesnt seem to have the same petulance as a number of South American players.

Setting aside whether South American players are disproportionately petulant (which I'm not convinced of...), he's North American! | | | | Login to get fewer ads

So you are reinforcing the suggestion it is the South Americans who are petulant! Like Ronaldo ... CR7 version that is!

Simple solution: ask him to wear the Mexico shirt under the Wolves shirt.

What happened with Trippier in the end? Did he rip his contract up?

| Thought Raul Jimenez had to wear his protective band to play? on 09:05 - Jul 7 with 435 views | tetchris | Personally I thought he’d be a good signing on a one year deal. But two years on £70k a week at Wolves is a bit steep for a 35 year old. I assume Trippier is on a similar deal. Paying £70k a week in the championship is ludicrous even with parachute payments. Hate to think what Leicester’s wage bill will be in league one | | | |
