| Nigel’s Charade… on 09:53 - Jul 8 by Kievthegreat | Greens said they would let the local party decide. The local party have decided they won't stand anyone. I genuinely hope we get just Binface and Frogface with no other protest options. Could be hilarious. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/art |
Sadly, by-elections bring out a plethora of candidates like wasps to a picnic Expect about 6 varieties of " English Democrats" always in favour of a Full English Breakfast and being beastly to Johnny Foreigner 2 or 3 local issue candidates..... " Little Sodding Says No To Asda" Some number of Communists, Crypto-Communists, Trotskyists, Neo-Trotskyists A few Animal Rights activists usually in fluffy costumes One or 2 "Bit of a Laugh" hopefuls But, alas, no one from Natural Law Party...... the Botty Bouncers are no more

| Nigel’s Charade… on 08:12 - Jul 8 by nrb1985 | Binface has confirmed he’s standing. Going to be bloody funny hearing what he has to say about Nige. |
Already been on Radio 4 Today program, making reference to Nige and this act as a cunning stunt.

He's a funny guy, with a very good line in pithy one-liners, and this will be his finest hour. I've said before that the best response to Fascism is sometimes Dadaism. The original Dadaists, as well as creating proto-surrealist sculpture such as Deschamps' famous Urinal, used to write nonsense Political Manifestos in protest at the way supposed democracies had led themselves into the horrors of World War One. Binface isn't a pure Dadaist, in that he uses the comedians trick of ultra-specific mudanity and juxtaposes it with absurd answers to huge problems (limit price of kebabs... Invite European Nations to join the UK) with some coherence, rather than nonsense and babble, but they would be proud of what he has done, his mastery of new media (Twitter/X) to perform his art, and his stand as a Jester in the Court of high profile Elections, and against authoritarianism.

It is one thing that is very noticeable, a trait of British and Irish people, is a self deprecating wit, and a rejection of self-importance and pomposity. If I had to think about which end of that spectrum Nige, Jenrick, et al sit, definitely on the far right of the latter.
