I've yet to see a definitive video that suggests it hit the SpiderCam.... but judging by all the commentary on Social Media it appears i'm in a minority!

The telling factor for me is that NOBODY said anything at the moment of 'impact'. Not even the Norwegian players waiting to receive the ball so would have been looking directly at it.
Nyland raised the issue, and only 20 seconds later after he'd conceded, and the rest went with it.

Even if it did, the ball dropped into England's half of the pitch when Gordon picked up possession. There was a lot to do from there and a lot of opportunity to defend the situation better.
The way people are going on over on Twitter it sounds like the ball hit a camera and dropped down onto the goal line!

Probably the keepers fault for kicking the ball at it. When we played the Gooners in the prem I said to my son, I would tempted to try & hit that bloody camara.

It just seems like an utterly pathetic thing for ABEs to harp on about. We had this whole thing the other day about how bad it was for VAR to call back that Egypt goal for an infringement earlier in the move. Now apparently VAR should have called back play for an accident that neither the referee nor the defending players noticed at the time, that had no direct material effect on the actual passage of play that lead to the goal?
Is it even in the rules for VAR to call back play for things that should result in a drop ball? Just let the game go on ffs.

That's not the point. If it hits the cable the goal is null and void and there is a drop ball restart in the FIFA rules.
