Strikes me that if you decide you hate someone you don't know simply because they're a different colour, or were born on a different bit of the earth's surface than you, or worship a different God, then you really are a pathetic inadequate cowardly tapeworm.
I made the mistake of reading the story on the Star's website, and there were some choice comments on there as well.
This so called silent majority is, I remain convinced (Although I'm increasingly sceptical), is not the majority. I'm sure as hell they're not silent though |  | | |

Very true. There was lots of talk on all sides of the Commons today during the Ann Widdecombe tributes of reigning in social media - both Diane Abbott and Jess Phillips spoke of the myriad of death threats they get, and I'll wager Kemi Badenoch gets plenty as well just down to the colour of their skin.
The usual suspects will bleat about freedom of speech, but as ever, they need to understand that freedom of speech does not equal freedom of consequences. | | | |

Rather interesting, after the initial press releases and the like, that none of the arrested persons have been charged with terrorist offences and, where charges have been made, they don't even relate to the incident. |
people don't seem shocked by this. which is very odd.
a very prominent politician renowned for her controversial views is murdered - and within 24 hours, and in the absence of any alternative motive, the police publicly dismiss terrorism or any political link. but then it appears they were wrong.
in another case on the same weekend the home secretary, clearly on the advice of the police, declares that an anti-terrorism operation has undoubtedly saved lives, but we now know they had no basis to make that public claim.
in one case the police seem overly keen to dismiss terrorism, in the other overly keen to identify terrorism. in both cases their public statements have been misleading and inaccurate. it's terrible. |  |

I certainly think it is concerning, and really won't help dispel some of the views raised in some quarters.
Obviously it is different police forces, but the counterpoint of each event is quite jarring. | |
