Fatawu is a proper player, would probably be at a Villa type and worth north of 50M if he didn’t have that terrible injury in 2024/25.
Think he has a higher ceiling than Philogene personally. If VAR was working he set up Ghana to beat England as well when he shrugged off Eze and released the forward for the one on one and Konza took matey out.
Love that business, pretty sure Leicester turned down 30M from Sunderland last summer. [Post edited 30 Jul 1:50]

Thought he looked pretty decent considering it was his first appearance and has only trained for a week or so.
Would like to see some slightly better decision making with his final ball - one or two opportunities to play someone in when instead he wanted to try and take another player on. But I suppose that as soon as he gets to know players and the kinds of runs they make, that’ll come.
One thing I was pleasantly surprised about was how much he goes down the outside. Leicester fans made out he was a one-trick pony only looking to cut in on his left. Quite clearly there’s so much more to his game than that. |  |

Although, even when he goes on the outside first he always cuts back to try and put the ball in with his left in that set of clips. |  | | |

Do people think, that the modern wide players, who play on the opposite flank to their natural side/footing really practice and hone this to a point that they can't really play on their natural side anymore?
He and other players, look like they are limiting themselves so much.
Imagine him bombing on the outside of his right back marker.
I know Philogene and Clarke seemed not as effective when they tried playing on the right.
When I was younger, I played as a right back, but after a while, I had to move across to left back. I felt really unbalanced all the time. The number of times I would try and play the ball down the line, and hook it out of play like a golfer was so embarrassing.
I would practice, against a wall, accepting or controlling the ball on my left foot, and aiming for a particular spot on the wall, with a simple side footed Left foot pass.
I got better, but didn't have confidence to go forwards anymore.
I suppose it is different as a defender, than a forward thinking player.
I know it has made watching neutral games a bit dull, with wide players always cutting back inside to an already congested area of the pitch. I suppose I'm old and miss the old days of 442 and flying wingers! | | | |

I think Fatawu looks a great signing & my Leicester season ticket holder mate agrees (funnily enough, he was amazed when we signed McAteer), but after I saw Ellis Harrison play in a friendly against West Ham in 2018, I though he was going to be the striker we needed. |  |

He's very quick but for someone who doesn't look particularly tall, he's got a very long stride length to him!... Reckon he'll get a lot of attention from defenders this season , but has a great cross on him. |  |
