Can expect to get €40m plus for Delap as is being reported?

It was probably felt he was undervalued when they got him from us, so I guess so!

Can't see it mate. Reportedly they want between 41 and 46m.
He has just come off the back of an awful season, can't see anyone paying much beyond £30m and that's with the English Striker Premium.

young english, on the open market last year we would have got 40 to 50 million. Think it's in the ball park of where he should be with prices as they are.

Premier league prices are ridiculous

How much did Burnley pay for Broja last year - £45 m I think?

Based on that it's quite possible

Was a sell on fee being included ever confirmed considering they invoked a release clause?

Guess it depends if it was written in the clause or not.

If they cant find someone to buy him outright they will do a deal with another club, say Villa, and get someone from them to 'balance the books'

It could also come down to any negotiations regarding the specifics of the clause.

Last summer a few people were saying that release clauses would require 100% payment up front, rather than over a few seasons. If that is the case, it may have given us latitiude to negotiate a sell-on in return for the usual installment-based payments.

Not a prophet, or a stone-age man; just a mortal with potential of a superman.

£20m for Broja, but given that he'd only played 18 games (without scoring) in the previous 2 seasons combined even that was generous!

£30m feels the right price for Delap, he's certainly not performed to a level that would suggest a steep price increase. I don't think he's going to get the permanent options that Chelsea would be hoping for, I can see a spell out on loan for him next season.

Or they do what we keep doing with Szmods and keep loaning him out if the buyers wont meet our value.

Why not, Brighton were after £35m for Ferguson and he's spent most of his career todate injured, so £40m would appear the going rate.

I find this comment utterly bonkers considering our current strikers include Hirst and Al Hamadi.

Plus a totally unknown new signing who has never played in England before never mind the premier.

If we paid the 40m could we still claim a sell-on percentage...

I’m staggered people want him back. Gave up from February onwards with us. Utterly awful for Chelsea including in recent friendly. Really poor. Not what we need now.
