Of course I'm sure GON will take a big picture view and he will probably go on loan but he seems a fantastic find. I can honestly say I've never seen a better passer of a football from goalkeeper. Absolutely fantastic with his feet.

Based on watching him in the warm up on saturday dropping every other cross that was put in to him by the coaches.
Its clearly something we are working on with him. They spent time working on his standing position and the way he was approaching his jumps and landings.
A loan out would be great for him and us.. long term he could be an outstanding keeper as his work with the ball to feet is brilliant. [Post edited 4 Aug 22:18]

I think it's far too early to have a fully formed view, certainly I wouldn't say he was incredibly poor based on such a tiny amount of data.

Look him up historically too. Hes known for punching over catching and parrying shots.

That would be like 90% of all modern goalkeepers. Punching and parrying before catching. Personally I prefer the latter, but there are times when it's simply better and safer to punch, and if you're going to parry, don't do it straight back out to the middle of the penalty area. Still very young indeed for a keeper and can pass better than many outfield players! Whether he's a PL starter or not is up to G O'N based on what he's seen from the keepers. |  | | |
