Great signing for Coventry. Surprised we weren’t linked with Yirenkyi given he can play as a box-to-box cm and right back (probably our two biggest needs)
Would have been perfect for Town at right back if we’re sticking with this system where the fullbacks invert into midfield.
Yirenkyi is the first ‘wow’ signing I’ve seen from Cov or Hull this window.
Franculino Dju is another from Midtjylland who I think would smash it in the prem, however it looks like Town are going after peak age ‘ready’ players rather than chasing re-sale value this window so maybe Zian Flemming is a more likely option!

I love their fans losing their minds over how good a signing this is compared to ours. 95% of them have no idea who he is or have seen him 1-2 times ever in their lives. It's comedy stuff their specific thread on Hull and Ipswich signings.

The sort of signing which is high risk for a newly promoted side. He's got clear potential, but he won't have much time to get up to speed. Coventry, like us, have 38 games to try and stay up, and if it takes a top prospect takes half the season to acclimatise, then it can impact your chances of staying up. CM such an important position as well, as has been discussed in depth on this board.
Of course, could be high reward as well. They'll probably recoup their money if he has a decent season and they go down. Happy to eat my words if he turns out to be a star and helps them stay up, but I prefer the 'proven' route we're going down this window. |
