Great little 30min programme on Sky Prem league last night ….The Ipswich Town Way .

With clips from Sir Alf days then onto Sir Bobby , Geaorge Burley years finishing with McKenna , well worth a watch , and I must say McKenna looks ill after that final game , absolutely exhausted .

It was probably on both. Definitely on Sky Sports Premier League as I recorded it.

They completely erased the John Lyall promotion, which pissed me off.

Apparently we were relegated when Sir Bobby left and stayed in the second tier until the arrival of Burley.

Very sloppy considering it's a Sky Premier League show and we were one of the founding embers in 1992.

Sometimes I think about the frothing lunatics I’ve put on ignore, who will have kept replying to me again and again, but I don’t even realise they exist.

Didn't they just. I couldn't believe it, Mel Henderson should know better.

He also said that all the best players from the 2000-01 season had to move on to bigger clubs and that's why we struggled the following season.

Why they also felt the need to include Matusiwa's Hull goal commentary over Jaden scoring, I don't know.

It may well be that he had spoken about the Lyall era but they just edited it terribly. Wouldn't surprise me.

Also, I was stunned to learn that Mel Henderson is Scottish. I had no idea.

The Lyall era may also not have fitted the narrative of the programme. Ramsey, Robson, Burley and McKenna all made their names with us; Lyall was a managerial veteran, plus he then moved upstairs after we won promotion.

Maybe, but those three years, including being one of the teams in the inaugural Premier League should have been mentioned.

I noticed the Matusiwa commentary overlay on JPs goal too. The other thing I’d have added was that the clubs early days in the Football League were managed by Scott Duncan, including the 1954 promotion team. Ramsey came in after they were relegated the following season.

The Cobbolds, who very much created and defined the club merited a mention too.

However, despite the above, I really enjoyed the programme and felt it really caught the essence of the club. It was nice to see Mel Henderson talking about something he’s been associated with literally for decades.

And I recorded it on TNT as it was shown straight after the cycling :)
