I was also in Churchman Upper. My gripe was with the truly awful cacophony coming out of the speakers in terms of so called 'music'. It was utterly putrid.
We are not all teens wanting to hear a constant stream of rap crap and caterwauling. Please, for the sake of diversity (in terms of age demographic), can we have some some sounds from the 1960's and 1970's thrown in now and again.

DJ has been a different guy since crowds returned after Covid.
A turn for the worse.

Yep. Pre COVID used to some decent stuff. They played Horse With No Name which my uncle loves a few times!
Now it's dreadful and then Ashton keeps setting off fire cannons.
Rob C was brilliant. Get him back and stop these morons saying 'YOUR Ipswich town! YOUR left back Leif Davis...'. we know it's our club and we know he's our left back.

I think some of those who keep throwing their hate towards Dave Vant should watch this:
He is a genuine town fan, who is learning on the job, a job he wasn't trying to get, but so happened to find a way into, and is trying to make the very most of the opportunity. He seems a genuinely decent person. The podcast does shine some light on parts of his, and other announcers job you probably haven't considered before too. I found it quite interesting.

I don’t doubt he’s a genuine Town fan and is a nice bloke.
But he’s like an over-excited kid on the microphone.

He absolutely is. I’ve met him a few times, and he’s a very genuine, very top guy.
Critique the footballers, sure, but why people feel the need to so personally and passionately criticise a guy just trying to do a good job, a difficult job, for presumably quite a modest wage, is frankly quite weird. I assume they’re all the absolute elite of their chosen careers.

Quite, those moaning that he's too excited would likely also be moaning if we hired someone that wasn't very rousing and was dull too. Id imagine it's a very hard job to do, one that whatever way you deliver, is not going to be the 'right way' for plenty of fans.
I say better to have an over-exicted puppy on the mic, than a complete dullard

That was Foz.
We’ve gone from one extreme to the other.

Possibly, he was no good either!
You're proving my point totally. We've had 3 stadium announcers in the last 10 years, at all different levels of enthusiasm. Yet none of them were good enough for you!

Three wrongs don’t make a right.
We had a perfectly good one and let him slip away.

None of them fit to lace Rob Chandler's boots

Possibly because none of them were actually good ? Vant is absolutely awful and we must be able to do better being in the premier league.

I miss the guy from the early 80s who just did the dj stuff and talked about the music. We are there to watch football for goodness sake.

Who is going to football for the music. I couldn't tell you a song that's been played for the last 2p years, not even sure what music we come out to as the noise in the lower North blocks it out

Rob C has clearly stated he’s not interested in doing it any more and just wants to turn up and enjoy the football. He was two years above me at school and therefore at least 66 so who can blame him.

Cobbold Upper towards the front/half way line, I thought the volume was absolutely perfect.
I don’t know who the PA was, but I’ll be honest I thought he was pretty good.
Rendition of Edward Eberneezer is always brilliant, when they cut it off at the end for everyone to sing “everybody calls me Ted”, it sounded brilliant with 8,000, will be brilliant with 30,000.

I do wish Vant would tone it down a bit but I guess he has been told by the club to try and get the atmosphere up and clearly some people like it.
I do remember when he did the thing where he shouted JADEN in to the mic when we scored hoping the crowd would shout Philogene back and they didnt. That was pretty funny.
