| Assuming Encisco deal get finalised on 11:47 - Aug 12 with 1106 views | ThatMuhrenCross | Someone in the Greaves mould who can play LCB/LB if required would be a good focus. Would want them to be someone with years of Premier League experience like Diop. I just think that whilst Greaves could be good enough for the step up, there may be times when we need a solid, experienced PL option. Diop has really opened my eyes to how good a PL CB actually is, and how deficient we actually are in that department. | |

Would assume Maeda coming in is already contingency for Jaden? Don't think we'd wait to pull a trigger on that sale if the right bid came in, even if we'd still look for another left winger if he went.

Yer I think you have it. Thats my minimum expectations too. May change depending on outgoings also. Hirst and Taylor look likely to leave for decent fees I reckon. Philogene also likely to leave it would appear.

I would keep the faith with Greaves. He plays as a LCB and can cover at LB. We do not need to sign someone else who can do the role he can. He's tall, athletic, and has good defensive attributes. My only criticism is he could be more aggressive/stronger in duels as he is weaker in comparison to O'Shea. He has the tools to adapt to the Premier League as this would be his second season at this level.

You mentioned it there but it concerns me how many times Greaves seems to get shoved off the ball by people much smaller than him. Needs to be more aggressive.

Similar train of thought. Certainly two defenders - maybe CB and LB if the plan is for DOS to play all season at right back. It wouldn't surprise me if we bring someone else in in the attacking midfield roles if Philogene goes - feels like an opportunistic deadline day loan for someone like Nwaneri from Arsenal.

We need cover for Leif and probably an RB although Johnson can cover both roles, a centre forward is the most urgent in my mind but finding one with prem experience will be tough.
