Trump's plane swapsie controversy 13:34 - Aug 12 with 1082 viewsElderGrizzly

Not sure how many picked up on this over the last few days

https://www.theguardian.com/us

Effectively there was a verified threat to Trump from Iran as he flew out of Turkey, so he jumped into a catering truck and switched planes.

Yet they left everyone else on there, without any warning as potential collateral damage, while Trump and Hegseth boarded an entirely different plane.
He then jumped back into the 747 at Mildenhall through a lower door and came down the normal steps to make everything look normal.

Trump of course as President gets different treatment, but as Obama officials have said since, you don't not warn the others who are left on there to carry on as normal.

Nice summary here:

No, not seen that. It sounds in keeping for someone who doesn’t give a sh*t about anyone else though.

Poll: Escaped Goat of the day. Who’s it going to be?

A journalist broke it a couple of days ago, and of course MAGA denied it until they were blue in the face.

Then the White House admitted it yesterday and threw them all under the bus.

Your last sentence is absolutely spot on.

Suffolk must still hold the biggest US bases in Uk/Europe, always seems to be Mildenhall for a pit stop.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

Is just me that thinks, Iran, famously is not short on missiles, surely they would have hedged their bets and aimed for both planes.

He actually jumped on the 3rd plane (the C32-A) that is used for the 'lesser'/support folk.

So didn't use his Qatari pimp-palace or the old 747.

Mildenhall always seem the preferred stop-off for Middle East/Asia.

You get a good shot of them coming over Ely Cathedral most days and it is very obvious when there is some kind of military operation ongoing.

Reminds me of when I worked at RAF Mildenhall many years ago, on a few occasions security would be ultra tight, generally I would not have my ID checked as I drove in and out the main gate several times every day and all the SP's knew me. Of course they always said it was routine spot checks when I asked who was coming in, but when I was denied access to the 3rd Air Force HQ building, I knew someone very important was around. We usually found out who a few days or weeks later. Air Force one used to come over twice a year and all comms were connected to the air craft to test connectivity, we knew this was a test because we were asked to be around a few days before the tests in case anything failed. Sadly I was never allowed to go onboard the plane. In 1978 the guy I worked with had Town scarfs and flags attached to his van for several weeks after the FA Cup win, when he took them off the SP's stopped him and asked for ID, saying they did not recognise him without them. TWTD's, great times, work and football.

My main takeaway from all this is 'live your life in such a way that you don't have to hide in a catering van because you've motivated people to make death threats against you'.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

It’s a regime that murdered thousands of their own citizens for the audacity of having a protest, they love killing people whether those people are objectionable or not.

I saw that Heathrow has been overtaken by Istanbul as Europe's busiest airport, fair do, connects Europe to Asia it's a logical hub.

BUT the reason cited was the "war" on Iran...
Do, passengers are not coming thru Lonfon, preferring to use a hub airport closer to the action?

BBC News - London Heathrow replaced as Europe's busiest airport by Istanbul - BBC News

The US-Israel conflict with Iran has had an impact on Heathrow's passenger traffic

They've now qualified this statement...

So the only people that knew that Trump had switched planes were Trump, his closest security personnel and possibly the Iranians who decided not to take down any of the planes involved despite the fact they like killing people, whether they are objectionable or not.
