I wonder what grounds the club could use to reject? If someone says they do not own or cannot use a smartphone, and have paid for their season ticket, what can the club do? Maybe recent new customers could get more attention, but anyone who has been going for years will surely be given a physical card if they ask. |  | | |

Just used the 'I don't have a smartphone, and have no intention of buying one' line.
If I have to have a digital ticket in future seasons, I have to have one. A physical one just makes it easier to lend to my dad on the odd occasion I can't make it. | |

Interesting to see that even e-Tickets are something that German fans have railed against. There was a banner at the weekend that I can't find now, but there were also fairly wide-spread protests back in 2024:

It’s actually easier to transfer a season ticket online, for people that you don’t know or see often tbf. Has been like that for a couple of seasons, saves the faff of trying to get the ticket back for the aforementioned reasons. | |

I have had smartphones for 15+ years and like technology. I have downloaded my ticket after the ticket office sorted an account linking issue for me. It will be easy for me to use.
That said, I am reluctant to insist everyone must own a smartphone and must use the Apple or Google Wallet apps. I know people without smartphones and there are also concerns about the power of the American tech firms. Technology should help us, but I dislike it when it becomes mandatory and I worry about the people it excludes. | | | |

Mobile phones are an extension of you as a human being. My rules for using a mobile phone are use it for its primary purpose... talking.
Difficult to survive without mobile banking use that and the things that come with it. But not google wallet.
No Social media apps, use the websites.

I'm not confident of it arriving via the post before Saturday 22nd though. We haven't received anything for 3 weeks, including something I know was posted on the 2nd.. We'd better prepare ourselves for a queue at the ticket office. |  | | |

This is why i don't see the need for it to be Apple and Google wallet only.
When I buy a train ticket to the game it sends me an eticket which I scan at the station, its still an eticket. Not sure why the need to insist on using nfc only as scanning a ticket is still digital. |  | | |

If it doesn’t arrive then ring them on the Friday and they can send out a digital ticket
