We need more foreign numbering in the Prem/EFL.
FWIW - Nunez requested number 62 last summer (has wore 26 at most clubs - obviously taken here by O’Shea). Had all of his signing photos in dressing and pitch with that on, before it got rejected by the EFL. |  |

FWIW - Nunez requested number 62 last summer (has wore 26 at most clubs - obviously taken here by O’Shea). Had all of his signing photos in dressing and pitch with that on, before it got rejected by the EFL. |
Any particular reason it would get rejected?
The EFL were happy with Morsy wearing 55 a few seasons ago, so it feels pretty arbitrary unless there's some sort of unpleasant association with 62 that I'm not aware of (a bit like a player in Germany wearing 88, for example). |  |

Guess Scherpen and Maeda are preferred numbers as Maeda wore 38 for Celtic and pretty sure Scherpen was 37 in Belgium.

It got ‘relaxed’ in January in the EFL, IIRC.
Those 3 West Ham players were academy players so are given higher numbers anyway, which isn’t an issue when it comes to them playing. [Post edited 19 Aug 19:37]

Palmer #1 and Kipre #4 stinks.
Scherpen #37 and Maeda #38 is horrible as well, presumably they asked for them as they're old club numbers but I would've outright refused. Horrible.
O'Shea needs to grow up as well. |
Number 4 for a centre back, number 5 for a centre mid and number 8 for a winger/no.10 is just a shocking bit of numbering. | |
