He puts in an admirable shift as you'd expect from our captain. BUT I can't help feeling like it's Luke Chambers all over again. Flogging him out there will do us no favours or his confidence.

The problem is who do you put there instead? Ouattara looks far too slight to be a PL full back to me.

I think he's both. I really like the look of him but he doesn't look remotely powerful enough to play as a RB in the Prem. If anything, I could see the merits in him replacing Fatawu. He'd be more dynamic further up the pitch. I think Strasbourg/GON used him that way too.

the lad is only 20, he will fill out. He was brought in a a utlity player, so that must be one of his roles as we are very light in both left and right back positions.

I'd either play three at the back or drop Diop for O'Shea.

would be kind of ironic, having spend squizillions on our squad and we go back to the :
Furlong - O'Shea - Greaves - Davies back four.
Personally I would keep the four and bolster midfield. Think we need more legs and energy, a destroyer in midfield to complement our more cultured Palacios and Lukic.

We have 4 CB's in the 25 man squad. Two left and two right footed ones. One of the lefts in my opinion is unquestionably not of PL standard. The other is borderline for one particular reason about to be highlighted. Both right CB's are probably of PL quality, but obviously not the best there is. We have been playing a pretty high line at times in games, If you do that you obviously need at least one central defender with some pace. We have only one, and he's been playing at right back. Go figure!

According to the internet Ouattara is 5ft 11. Not the tallest, but he is actually a big bloke and the opposition couldn’t shift him off the ball. He didn’t give the things away cheaply either. At 20 years old he looks a real player to me. As a full back? Don’t know.

But I do know Furlong and I think he would steady that side of the defence. So would putting our best CH O’Shea in his best position.
